If you allow people to commit the crime of entering the country illegally, you should not be surprised they that they have no respect for our other laws. Don't act shocked over an uninsured hit and run, or car theft, or identity theft, or kidnapping or home invasions. Don't be surprised when their children born in the United States need welfare benefits, because their parents wire their pay checks to Mexico.

The best way to determine if someone is in this country illegally, is to ask them.

how many ppl is 57%??? if you want to nit pick, no matter how or what you do, the ILLEGAL Hispanic population here will remain a majority!
So, stop calling it "racial profiling" if your %-age was 1% then you could call it that.....in the current circumstances you DO NOT have an argument! and next time, please do try to illegally cross into Austria....and let me know how that goes!

FYI..

57% = 3,363,000 (calculators are a useful tool), and in case you're curious (hmm) the other 24% = 1,416,000. Which, by the way, leaves 19% "potentially" white people here illegally. But why let the fact's (nit picking?) get in the way of a good story right?

Yes it is true that the majority of the Illegal population are from the evil "brown people" countries, there might even be some..GASP..arab people in the other 19% too. But considering that the 1,121,000 non hispanic Illegals here comprise a number larger than the entire population of 11 individual states, it just shows that yes..white people are here illegally as well, and not in insignificant numbers.

By the way..Austria?

Laws, by nature, are written with ambiguous language. So you're leaving the real application of the law open to interpretation to thousands across multiple agencies. So where is the consistancy? Can you tell me straight faced that this wasn't written for a particular demographic? By the way, in that demographic there is 30% of the ENTIRE 6.5 million American Citizens that reside in the state? Can't you see the potential for abuse?

It's easy to have a knee jerk reaction, positive or negative. You may feel differently if you were the one being detained and questioned for no other reason than ancestral heritage. It's a slippery slope guys..just think about it.
I would agree that there will be some misuse of this law just as there is with any law that exists. The problem is something has to be done by someone now. We've reached critical mass in some states and the majority of people who're here legally are tired of it. So what to do? Well, there's the open border crowd who think that there should be free migration across the continent which would be fine if everyone would have the same economy and wouldn't flee their corrupt violence torn countries to go to others instead of FIXING their own and displacing the current residents in the process.
So, short of the current AZ solution and since it's not in the fed's political interest to do anything except wring their hands what better solution is there?

Silly border huh? Well if it's sooooo silly how 'bout dropping down south of the border unannounced to vist your "brothers" for a bit. When you get there be sure to let 'em know you don't have a passport and see what happens.... Oh and when you get placed in your "room" at the graybar hotel be sure and sing a few bars of the song Hotel California where "you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave" because that'll be your new theme song....
See, there's the rub, in Mexico if you attempt to do what they're DOING here on an hourly basis you're tossed into the cooler for a long while or shot (notice THEY have their Army on their southern border) so us enforcing our laws which are wayyy less strict makes US the bad people?
Something warped about that logic.
Well, Jim, it is a silly border and you don't change that fact. SILLY! We are not talking about people coming to Mexico, are we? We are talking about people coming to America... Mod Cut: Personal... if you can! Just because one country does something doesn't mean we should. Didn't your mom teach you if a friend jumps on the tracks it doesn't mean you should? Oh, by the way, MY BROTHERS are white, I am American, born and raised with Irish heritage... do you know your heritage or are you just some "white person"..... hahaha. See most people that are "white" don't even know their heritage or where they come from. Mod Cut: Personal Was it just fine and dandy how us white folk got here? Of course it is. In the mind of a delusional Republican who dreams of a "white" utopian society! Good luck with that, Jim!

I 100% agree that something has to be done. And if Arizona's bill put's pressure on the federal government (who really should be the one's protecting our borders) to secure our borders, then it turns out that this bill is actually a blessing in disguise.

Open borders is a HORRIBLE idea, we need to have policies in place to know who's here and why, especially these days. And ask the Europeans how well the whole concept of "continental unity" is going these days.

The Arizona state prison system spent $77 million last year detaining more than 4000 illegal immigrants.

If I was Arizona I wouldn't spend the money to detain them just provide a free one way bus ticket to Los Angeles no questions asked.

You're grasping for straws..... the majority remains! sorry.

Yes, Austria, you know in Europe? a map is very useful too, not just calculators....try immigrating illegally there and see what happens.......

I still don't understand HOW in the WORLD you can JUSTIFY ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!!!!!!!!!!! Does that mean you also justify a burglar for breaking into your house and stealing your TV? ooooohhh poor him, he couldn't watch the invasion of reality TV! aaaaaawwwwwwwww poor him!

Open Borders? are you joking? I hope you are that would be HORRIBLE!

Exclamation lets do a english test on the meaning of "illegal"

yes to liberals English is a second language and even though they have taken over our entire school system, they still get it wrong. we need to check their papers to see if they are actually Americans because they seem to always be on the side of other country's needs or beliefs. Most of these teachers are Marxist and Socialist.. IF YOU CAME HERE WITHOUT ANY LEGAL PORT OF ENTRY, YOU DO NOT BELONG HERE, GO TO THE BACK OF THE LINE.. the rest of us came here with proper papers and a VISA IN HAND TO STAY HERE LEGALLY!! SO THERE IS YOUR ENGLISH CLASS YOU LIBERALS we the people will hold on to our country in spite of their hatred of our GREATNESS AND OUR POWER, GOD HAS BLESSED US BECAUSE OF OUR CHRISTIAN BELIEFS AND OUR ABILITY TO HELP THOSE IN NEED!
