Just read an article in BBC about the uncomfortable truths about Malaysian political culture of complacency. I would not be so kind as the British. It's actually a culture of Third World incompetence disguised by niceties, vague deflection and outright ignorance. if in fact the plane was hijacked into the Indian Ocean, the competency of the Malay Air Force, or whatever constitute such a force in that country, should be called into question. Does Malaysia even have an air defense system worthy of its name? Having a jumbo 777 fly across its territory without even being detected, questioned or challenged is absolutely dumbfounding to me. Third World indeed.
