Atlanta has a few defining monuments...maybe they should be placed in higher profile locations? Or do they need a more grand presentation? Or something else?

I don't think that's what's to be inferred here. It's difficult to deny the corruption, nepotism, ineptitude and betrayal of public trust that has existed in city government for over 30 years. Color has nothing to do with it.

Though I must say given the current situation with the governor of Illinois our city's problems pale in comparison. Heck, I thought it was embarrassing that my former state had two governors go to prison. Illinois has had four, that must be some type of record.

Ineptitude seems to be the primary issue here. They don't seem to be criminal, just dumb.

Stop playing the race card. No body wants to hear it.

Speaking of demographics though, I would like to see a more diverse city. Most major cities like NYC, Chicago, etc. do not have a majority race. Its a melting pot made up of asians, whites, blacks, and hispanics, and although there may be a plurality race, none has the majority. I think this makes the city a lot more cosmopolitan and cultured.

I also think we need a 24-hour downtown that does not shut down at 5:00 PM. That seems to be the major compaint from people that come from major cities to visit Atlanta.

Deacon J -
Excellent photo presentation! I have seen alot of these statues/monuments but I didn't know who they were or the meaning behind them. Maybe we just need to have a pictorial map with the locations marked and the history behind them.

But yet I do feel that was what was inferred, could be wrong, but I dont think so. On the other side of the coin, nepotism, corruption, and ineptitude is rampant at 55 Trinity Street, I know as I worked in the O.C.C .(Office of Contracts & Compliance) when I first got out of college. While corruption may abound at City Hall, what level of government is not corrupt? Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and it will continue to do so regardless of race or color.

Long time no hear from Cobain!!! But even Ray Charles could see what he was trying to do; I don’t understand why people feel the need to use code words or subtle inferences to illustrate their point of view. Be a man, if you feel a certain way, then say it, don’t be a spineless jellyfish of a human being and talk in codes!!!!

Atlanta needs something bigger, much grander.
