The Astros' Jake Meyers is progressing nicely in center field, as well as in the lineup. While Houston's minor-league pipeline is thin (at the moment), Meyers has been the year's pleasant surprise. He's got a .324 BA in just 21 games.

The team now heads to Seattle for three. One month to go, folks.

Default Division Champs!

The Astros won the 2021 AL West division crown tonight. 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Now, the team's magic number to clinch the AL's number two seed in the playoffs is 1. They need a win tomorrow and a White Sox loss to make it happen.

ALDS is underway, and Houston is one up on the Chicago White Sox after an exciting 6-1 win at home. McCullers was brilliant and the offense struck early. Game 2 is tomorrow.

And the Rays won their first game.

We may be headed for the same ALCS matchup as last year…….and five ALCS berths in a row for the Astros .

I hope the WS = The Astros vs. The Giants.

Game on 10/11 postponed because of impending rain.

Game 4 will now be on the previous travel day, 10/12, with McCullers on the mound for the Astros.

Hopefully there won’t be a Game 5, but if there is it will still be played in Houston on Wednesday 10/13.

I’m sad for Rays fans. They’ll have to wait until another year.

Hopefully the Astros will win today 10/12 (for a fifth straight ALCS berth) and we’ll have a ‘replay’ of the matchup of the 2018 ALCS.

Altuve puts the exclamation point on the game in the top of the 9th with a three run shot to put the Astros up 10-1, and the Astros win the game 10-1, and the series three games to one.

The 2021 ‘rematch’ of the 2018 ALCS between the Astros and the Red Sox will start on Friday 10/15/21 here in Houston.

I’m still hoping for my dream/no disappointment WS between the Giants and the Astros.

I'd rather we face Hotlanta. You know, the Braves are due, and Houston's had a great history of great series with Atlanta back in the National League days.

As it is, I'm happy we're getting Boston and we will be tasting home cooking. If the offense keeps clicking, then the Astros will go far.

If the Dodgers manage to get by the Giants in five on Thursday, then I certainly hope Atlanta beats the Dodgers in the NLCS, and would hope they meet the Astros in the World Series.

Altuve atones for his fielding mistake earlier in the game with a 2 run shot in the 6th to tie Game #1 of the ALCS 3-3 and move into a tie with Jeter for third place on the all time postseason home run list with 20 (Bernie Williams is #2 at 22, and Manny Ramirez is #1 at 29).
