The Astros' Jake Meyers is progressing nicely in center field, as well as in the lineup. While Houston's minor-league pipeline is thin (at the moment), Meyers has been the year's pleasant surprise. He's got a .324 BA in just 21 games.
The team now heads to Seattle for three. One month to go, folks.
Astros may have already won the annual Silver Boot series against the cross-state Rangers, but they laid an egg yesterday in the last of their latest series in Arlington, losing that one 13-2.
A couple of their losing skids were preceded by a blowout win so maybe a blowout loss will bring us a winning streak. So much of this game is attitude. A gut-wrenching loss in extra innings can take more out of you than getting shellacked.

If the Dodgers manage to get by the Giants in five on Thursday, then I certainly hope Atlanta beats the Dodgers in the NLCS, and would hope they meet the Astros in the World Series.
