Yeah, WC first-round is a must-watch and there will be no surprising upsets.
EC first-round? Ummm as it stands right now ... perhaps Toronto-Cleveland would be entertaining but that's about it.

Cleveland made the finals that year because the east was really weak.
They got beat 4-0 by the Spurs.

The next 3 years they only got to the ECF once and got beat by Orlando there.
Seriously, Orlando.

If they start playing better defense, then there is something cooking there. You don't let the Clippers (and everybody else) shoot 47%+ night in and night out and win long-term.

As it stands right now, whomever makes the NBA finals is going to get embarassed by the west.

Everybody in the east still looks to be a half step behind or more from their best.

Yeah I know, and one of the wins was over a bad Lakers team

Atlanta sweeps a back to back road trip to Toronto (with DeRozan back in the lineup too and really punched the Raps in the mouth) and then the next night goes to Chicago and beat the Bulls. They also really beat up the Wizards earlier in the weekend. Anyone that still has their doubts about whether this team is for real or not, that can officially be put to rest after the last 2 nights. They may not make it to the finals (and hell I don't even think they'll make it to the Eastern conference finals) but this team definitely showed they are a contender in the East.

Pistons win again tonight and only 1 game behind the Nets for that 8th seed in the East

I think they will make the ECF.

If the Bulls continue to struggle with their rythm, which I doubt because they are making slow progress.....then I think Atlanta will make the Finals.

Atlanta and Chicago are the class of the East. The Wizards and Raptors are a step below and pretty even with each other.

But those four will be beating each other up for the next couple of years and I look forward to it.

Detroit nearly beat the Atlanta Spurs the other night. I tend to think they (Detroit and the Atlanta Spurs) are evenly matched teams, believe it or not.

The Pistons are starting to remind me of Stan Van Gundy's Orlando Magic a few years back with Hedo and Rashard Lewis along with Dwight Howard. They really spaced out the floor with those three. Just as Jonas J., Jodie Meeks and Kyle Singler are doing. People tend to forget how good D.J. Augustin was/can be as he was with the Bulls. They have him coming off the bench behind Jennings. He is a borderline starter for most NBA teams. (IMO)
