Most of my parents' generation who are still alive (80s and 90s) are retired and living in southern California. None of them belonged to a union. And you know what? They're mostly Republicans. However, few of them care for Trump.

They also bought their houses when they were $40,000 and don't plan to sell. It's gridlocked until they pass.

Yes shame on them keeping the home they paid for.

When and where did any of those things come up for a vote?

That poster hasn’t argued the opposite at all anywhere I’ve read. That poster has been quite clear about her stance favoring mandatory E-Verify and prosecution for businesses that violate it. Pretty clear stance against illegal immigration if you ask me.

Huh? Republicans had the opportunity to vote on mandatory e-verify in 2006, 2013, and 2018 and each time they refused to bring it to a vote, so who should I have voted for "accordingly"

Look how delusional some are here and just how much do some OBFUSCATE here? A lot. Someone asked when immigration was an issue. It was a bloody huge issue in the last gubernatorial election. One candidate was in favor of sanctuary policies that hindered ICE law enforcement, the other favored working with ICE. A choice was made and it was clearly in favor of sanctuary policies.

Exactly none of them were on any ballots that I saw.

But of course you want to suggest that ONE of them was, in the form of “sanctuary policy”. Sanctuary status doesn’t prevent illegal immigration. Not does it remove illegals. Sanctuary status assists local law enforcement doing their job by engendering positive community relations between illegals and law enforcement.

Immigration laws are enforced by federal authority, not local. Identifying and rounding up and deporting illegals is the job of the feds.

I’m quite opposed to illegal immigration loopholes and leniency. But I absolutely see value in sanctuary status separating local law from federal. Local enforcement has to deal with local crime ongoing. The feds don’t. And police chiefs all across America, including in red states with lots of illegals, agree.

You can vote for politicians that favor or try to implement those laws.

ICE is not interacting daily with the everyday folk, police are. If they suspect someone of being illegal, they should be able to contact ICE so they can investigate, especially people that they are already investigating for other crimes. I don't understand why we want to give warm and fuzzies to illegals, should be the opposite. Makes zero sense.
