A previous post said it perfectly. If you don't walk out with a product everytime you go in a store what makes you so ethical and the next guy so unethical?
Yes, I am that ethical.
Being a business owner, I respect other's time, effort and knowledge. Whether you take five minutes or five hours, what you gained holds value. Obviously you know this or you wouldn't seek it out to begin with.

Your last statement proves you aren't even on the same page as others in this thread,

LOL. You must have a house full of junk.

We don't owe you our money because we walked through your door. I respect businesses... I don't steal or break the merchandise.

Its my money.....I work hard for it and if you don't want me wasting your time or expertise lock your doors and only let the ethical customers in who agree to pay for your time. I can waste your time in your store or in the store down the street. The smart business man will want me wasting time in their store because I'm still physically in the store and you have an opportunity to sell me something.

You sound bitter.... I think you would be much happier if you changed your attitude when it comes to showroomers.

Why the need for personal attack? I/we don't buy junk.

Not bitter at all.....I just have a low tolerance for BS and arrogant people. And no a smart business man does not think that way....a successful person doesn't get there by wasting time.

Consider that you're talking to a person who posted this:

I'd much rather be selfish and self-serving and save money then be an honorable sucker who overpays for a product that is 100 bucks cheaper online.

then decide if you want to waste more time on someone who thinks that is perfectly acceptable and still doesn't understand the ethics issue, even after it's been explained a dozen times.

This is true. I got a statement for 2011 from Amazon for all purchases I made that were delivered to my SC address. We paid taxes on it. I don't know if this was part of the agreement between Amazon and SC for Amazon doing business in SC. What was not included in that statement are purchases I bought and was delivered to non-SC addresses.

It wasn't personal. I just have a hard time believing you never leave a stote empty handed.

Its unethical in your eyes because you are the salesperson... there is nothing wrong with a consumer taking advantage of everything that is available to them before making a purchase.

I'm amazed that you feel you are so ethical you've never had a salesperson think you were wasting their time. Trust me, you've done it before... and you will do it again.

Does that make it clear, or are some of you going to continue to think browsing a store is what I mean?????

I go online and educate myself then go to the store or stores that I am interested in see what they can do for me (check out the prices online for the stores too if they have a site). I hate to waste my time and the time of others. So I go prepared.
