Indeed. To listen to some, one would think the 10 Biblical Plagues hit Charlotte that day. I see no reason not to have had that event in the Stadium as the weather did exactly what the weather forecasters said it would do all week. i.e. clear Thursday night. IMO, the event was called because they didn't want to show an empty stadium.

Obvious that you have never run an outdoor event. You must make a call on weather, to hold it or call it. Hard choice that had to be made.

Irrelevant to what I said and the issue at hand.

The DNC had already made a decision on the weather on the day before they canceled the event. "Come Rain or Shine...." Even I, a person who has never held an outdoor event, knows better to say that if I expect the weather to make it impossible.

I blame Sean Hannity....

if you have an opinion and say it over and over and over and over again it becomes the truth

Indeed, it was a great event and an exceptional showcase of Charlotte, the city. Lol, even if they'd held the event in BOA with 65000+ people, certain loons would claim it 1/3 full and only the camera angles conveyed the impression of a capacity crowd. Good call, I was down there...place was hopping.

Doesn't matter, the DNC was a huge success and great for branding/exposure. Some sour grapes based on energy level, excitement and overall platform....buzz is DNC>RNC...not that it matters that much in the grand scheme of the election but that was good for Charlotte. Obviously, I thought Tampa would be a better locale for a national convention but seems Charlotte's LRT, downtown and other amenities were a big hit.

That & the person who said rain or shine hadn't spoken to the technical people. The person in charge of the technical set up would have told them that, based on the weather report, they needed to be ready with a contingency plan by Tuesday at the latest.

They had to move it to avoid potential negative PR. Imagine if it had rained and one of the 65,000 elderly or very young caught pneumonia or flu as a result. The resulting headlines from that would be pretty bad.

Also whoever within the DNC made the comment that the event would be held in an outdoor stadium "come rain or shine" should know beter than to make a statement like that.

The statement, "Come Rain or Shine" was made to the national press by Jim Messina who is Obama's 2012 Campaign manager and was also his Deputy Chief of Staff Operations for the White House. The only person who could over ride his decisions would be Obama himself. If he doesn't know how to talk to technical people before talking to the national press and making decisions then I'd say that it doesn't bode well for Obama's campaign.
