Totally agree with Bolingbrook the house looks like the ones on older side and Bolingbrook has a stranger mix of characters.

Side note on Rosanne me and my wife have been binging it . We are on season six and in season five and six they mentioned enough for me to be one hundred percent sure it's in sycamore IIll.but I am not going to watch again to find exact episodes.

Dan was reading newspaper that said sycamore.

Darliene commute to college in Chicago is two hours.

They want to Elgin and they said it took like thirty minutes.

The people who said places like Portage, South Holland, and Homewood are the closest to accurate, IMO, especially considering that we're talking about 25-30 years ago. Even back then and in those somewhat lower-cost areas, though, I also agree with those saying they wouldn't have been able to afford a place that large and relatively well-maintained with a family of four on their low income (as it was portrayed in the show). This is a common disbelief-suspension-requiring problem with sitcoms, though. It's not likely most of the main characters in FRIENDS, Seinfeld, or Sex and The City could have afforded their Manhattan apartments in their chosen career fields (or lack thereof), either.

The house does not look like many of the areas mentioned. It seems to be a split level or a bi or tri level. Maybe some of the cheaper areas in Schaumburg, Hoffman estates or Rolling Meadows, maybe Glendale Heights? Berwyn and Norridge don't have many houses like that. Deerfield, no. I'm not that familiar with Bolingbrook. Al and Peg Bundy seemed like old greaser types that originally would have come from the north or northwest side of Chicago and then moved to the burbs. Maybe they went to Steinmetz High School or some such thing. I'd also say Schiller or Franklin Park, or Melrose Park or River Grove, but not many houses like that there.

I would speculate that the Bundys lived in a south Cook County suburb. Am not judging by house style, but to the fact that in one of the opening shots on MWC, the camera pans as if traveling south on Lake Shore Drive.

Since the Bundys lived in a middle class area, many suburbs in that area would be an accurate location (at least in the 1990s).

fusillirob1983, sorry I set you up like that! I was just trying to share some trivia. I thought some people might have found it interesting, since it was somewhat related to the topic. Sincerely- Master Jay in Milwaukee

Not your fault. I thought it was interesting as I never heard that previously, and there seemed to be a lot of guessing in this thread, so I was excited about actually seeing the house.
