I've lived all over the place and have experienced winter weather all over the midwest. Your "experiences" are just figments of your imagination. The mentally ill experience lots of things that don't actually happen.

And no, you didn't say Chicago was ONE of the coldest places in the Midwest, you said Chicago and Minneapolis are the two coldest places in the midwest. And that's just silly. Chicago is actually on the more moderate side of Mdwestern weather. So give it up, and move along. Thank you.

Now you're saying I'm mentally ill because I said Chicago was cold. Man, I think everyone needs to look out for you, since you're psycho. Gee, there must be a lot of mentally ill people out there, then, since I've heard a lot of people say Chicago is cold.
I know I'm right and you're an idiot. Carry on.

Default Great little map off WGN

What do you know... Here is an EXAMPLE this is just an example, not an everyday occurance, but none the less according to WGN even with south-easterly winds, the lake can affect temps more than 7-10 degrees imagine NE winds. Thin line between rain/snow; vigorous weekend storm warrants monitoring - WGN Weather Center Blog 73 down by me while mid 50s on the northshore. Or we can look at this example. http://weblogs.wgntv.com/chicago-wea...next-week.html or this example of a 24 ! degree spread. http://weblogs.wgntv.com/chicago-wea...cago-week.html

No it's called, there's lots of people on this board that won't admit that there are faults in Chicago. They say its warm and sunny here year round, or the roads are the best in the country (cough cough), or that taxes here are wonderful, blah blah blah.

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. That funniest was the freak who just said I was crazy for thinking it's cold, then went on to say that the winters in Chicago are "moderate." Lol! Yeah, those balmy -30 degree days, what was I thinking?

Skokie isn't close enough to the lake to have its temperatures moderated by the lake. The temperature difference you cite was the result of either a cold front moving through while you were up there, or sometimes there are drastic differences between the north and south suburbs, regardless of distance from the lake, when there is a temperature front dividing the Chicago area.

Even so, I decided to put your hypothesis to the test. The closest weather records I could find that did not default to Chicago data were Wheeling for the near north and Joliet for the southern suburbs. And guess what I found? The mean temperature difference on Mother's Day between Wheeling and Joliet was .... *drumroll* .... one degree.

.."MSP and Chicago are, by far ,the two coldest cities in the Midwest".

Ever heard of the state of Wisconsin? Do you use a compass, or are you still figuring out how a weather vane works?

Is Illinois north or south of Wisconsin? If you're going to the UP in Michigan in the middle of January, would it be wise to bring a winter coat, or were you planning on wearing shorts and sunning yourself in the balmy temperatures?

Leave the meteorology to someone who knows something about it, or at least someone with some common sense..

I'd like to see you quote anyone saying any of those things.

Just because you jump to the absurd fringes of any argument does not mean those disagreeing with you must automatically hold claim to the opposite fringe of your argument.

We're just pointing out how ridiculous you are.

Out of curiosity...

4eversearching = ronniejonze?

If you two AREN'T the same person, you should DEFINITELY hook up. You could get together and eat corn and talk about how Chicago sucks and Iowa is far better.

It'd be cute.
