Look. Praying with saints and asking for their intercession, or angels intercession,
or the Blessed Mother's intercession is NOT necromancy. Having a dream about
your father in which you felt he spoke to you is NOT conjuring spirits.
Hope this helps.
I agree that there is a difference between praying to saints (till now Catholics always denied that it is prayer) and going to a medium to contact the dead, what the RCC says is forbidden, but in the interview it was allowed.
In that visitation I was not allowed to speak. Before I could, the whole vision disappeared as quickly it appeared.
This seems to be the opinion of one person. I don't believe the RCC endorses the concept of dead people whispering in the ears of folks. That in itself would be a hallucination.
Nice try!
OTOH, praying to saints is simply part of traditions passed down since the onset of Christianity.
Are you even reading what FATHER Gino Concetti said? Let's take a look.
Julian says dead people whispering in the ears of folks would be a hallucination.
Father Gino Concetti says: ‘According to modern catechizing, God permits our dear disappeared living in an extraterrestrial sphere to send messages........’The messages can be transmitted not only by words or tones.......
Julian says:I don't believe the RCC endorses the concept of dead people whispering in the ears of folks.
Father Gino Concetti says:.......the Church decided to no longer forbid experiments endeavouring DIALOGUES with the deceased..............
Father Gino Concetti says, 'For the Catholic Church, contacts with the Beyond are feasible, and a person who communicates with the world of the deceased in the light of belief, does not commit any sin.'
Julian says:this appears to be the opinion of one person.
Father Gino Concetti wrote this in the "Osservatore Romano" the daily paper of the Holy See.

Quote:
It is the official position of the Roman Catholic Church that Catholics do not
pray TO saints or Mary, but rather that Catholics can ask saints or Mary to pray
FOR them. The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that asking
saints for their prayers is no different than asking someone here on earth to
pray for us. However, the practice of many Catholics diverges from official
Roman Catholic teaching. Many Catholics do in fact pray directly to saints
and/or Mary, asking them for help – instead of asking the saints and/or Mary to
intercede with God for help.

The doctrine expressed in the second clause of the ninth article in the received text of the Apostles' Creed: "I believe......... the HolyCatholicChurch, the Communion of Saints". This, probably the latest, addition to the old Roman Symbol is found in:
The Gallican Liturgy of the seventh century (P.L., LXXII, 349, 597)
In some letters of the Pseudo-Augustine (P.L., XXXIX, 2189, 2191, 2194), now credited to St. Caesarius of Arles (c. 543)
In the "De Spiritu Sancto" (P.L., LXII, 11), ascribed to Faustus of Riez (c. 460)

I have not seen the endorsement of listening to the voices of the dead in the Catechism of the RCC. If you can find it I would love to see it.
Asking the virgin and saints to pray for us is ONE line during mass, no more.
If ignorant Catholics talk to the dead they are hallucinating. No different that those Protestants that see demons everywhere.
Father Concetti maybe a waco. That in itself means nothing.
If a man's lordship is not devoted to Christ , he can talk to whom ever he wishes .
If a man loves God ,he is obedient to God needing God's instruction ,not that of men, dead or alive.
You are servants, to whom you choose to obey/listen.
Whom do you choose to obey ?

There is only God.
Everything else is a mystery and man made religion.
I knew this was coming. Can't you surprise me once in a while with something unexpected? The bible condemns liars too -- hypocrites too --- do any of us fall into that category? Yet the condemnation you speak of about talking to the dead is one big fundamentalist creation pulled from a story in the Old Testament. Aren't you at least going to pull the scriptures out for us that you are relying on?
The bible also condemns the eating of unclean meat.
Those are all very good reasons not to lie or act in a hypocritical manner, isn't it?

Vizio:
The Bible is the word of God as interpreted by men. The true word of God in the holy spirit and we get there by reasoning.
The words in the bible are a great guide, but they are simply not enough and at times misleading.
At the same time there are brilliant passages about what is like to be a good Christian. Ideally, we should focus on how to be good Christians and ignore the barbaric prose that does not make sense.
