Punn intended.
There is no word as 'punn', according to my World Book Dictionary. There is 'punner' (a person who makes puns), 'punnet' (a small, round, shallow chip basket, used chiefly for fruits and vegetables), 'punnily' or 'punningly' (in a punny manner), 'punny' (having or consisting of a pun or puns).

Yes, it is a mental gymnastics, but a serious one, as the faith of mankind lies on its authenticity. Mark 15:42 states: "And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath".

Mark 15:42 is after sunset - even or evening. Yet it was still the Preparation Day. Because the followers of Jesus was not using the Jewish lunar calendar, but the Julian solar calendar, wherein the day starts at midnight.

Mark 15:25 states: "And it was the third hour [about 9 AM], and they crucified him."
Matthew 27:45 states: "Now from the sixth hour [about 12 noon] there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour [about 3 PM]."

According to the spirit of Ama, those who die at exactly 12 noon, their soul will go straight to Heaven. We know that we will die one day. So better die at exactly 12 noon so that his soul will go straight to Heaven.

John 19:14 states: "And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour [about 12 noon]: and he [Pontius Pilate] unto the Jews, Behold your King!" How can it be that Mark 15:25 says that it was third hour [about 9 AM] that they crucified Him and in John 19:14, Pontius Pilate was still judging Jesus [about 12 noon].

From the above quote, we see that the followers of Jesus was using the Julian solar calendar. The spirit of Ama revealed that Jesus was lanced by Longinus, the Roman centurion, at exactly 12 noon, to prove that He was brave and that Jesus was really dead when He said in John 19:30, "It is finished." So, He was dead from 12 noon. Since the followers of Jesus were using the Julian solar calendar, and it was Thursday when they crucified Him, the counting of days will be Friday, a high day Sabbath; Saturday, the regular weekly Sabbath of the Jews; Sunday, the Sabbath of the followers of Jesus who were all Jews. Early morning of Monday when Mary Magdalene et al. discovered the missing body of Jesus. Hence three days and three nights, Jesus was "in the heart of the earth" (Matthew 12:40). 3 x 24 hours (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).

Why did Longinus, the Roman centurion, lance or pierce, Jesus? To prove that he was brave and that Jesus was really dead when He said in John 19:30, "It is finished."

On Monday, the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene et al. discovered the missing body of Jesus.

Isaiah 53:9 states: "And he made his grave with the wicked, and the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth." After removing the body of Jesus on the cross, it was handed to the Blessed Virgin Mary (La Pieta). The Pharisees grabbed the body of Jesus because they didn't want to bury Jesus in the Cemetery for the Foreigners, according to the spirit of Ama. That is why they buried Him in the sepulcher of Nicodemus which was hewn from the rock. The wicked were the malefactors who were crucified with Him, and the rich because He was buried in the sepulcher.

Why are there three Sabbaths - Thursday, crucifixion of Jesus; Friday, a high Sabbath; Saturday, the regular weekly Sabbath of the Jews; and Sunday, the Sabbath of the followers of Jesus. Please read carefully Acts 17:2 and Mark 16:1 (Sabbath is singular).

I asked in Yahoo Answers: "Is Sabbath singular or plural in Matthew 28:1 and Mark 16:1?" Kimon, maybe a native Greek linguist, answered.

Kimon said that "Matthew 28:1 seems to be plural, but there are no punctuation marks ... Mark 16:1 is singular."

The spirit of Ama revealed that Jesus was crucified on 08-17 which I find to be true and correct. The year is 1 BC.

Matthew 28:1 is plural because there were really more than one Sabbath following Jesus' crucifixion. The Sabbath were:
first, the high day Sabbath which I found to be the New Moon Festival on 3760 Elul 1 (1 BC 08-18) (John 19:31);
second, the regular weekly Saturday Sabbath on 3760 Elul 2 (1 BC 08-19); and
third, the Sabbath of the followers of Jesus on Sunday, 3760 Elul 3 (1 BC 08-20).
These three Sabbaths are what Paul was referring to in Acts 17:2.

Mark 16:1 is singular because if refers only to the Sabbath of the followers of Jesus on Sunday, 3760 Elul 3 (1 BC 08-20). It was only after their Sabbath that Mary Magdalene et al. went to the market to buy the sweet spices that they would anoint Jesus with early the following morning. Jesus was crucified in summer wherein the market was open in the morning, close from about noon to about 3 or 4 pm because it was hot, and open again till 30 minutes to one hour after the sun had set. This was their only window of opportunity after the three-consecutive-day Sabbaths. That Sunday was a regular market day and neither a high day nor the regular weekly Sabbath.

So those who think about a crucifixion with one Sabbath must consider that Matthew 28:1 is plural and that there were at least two Sabbaths between crucifixion and resurrection.

Jesus died on Friday the Jewish month of Nisan the 14th day. Friday Nisan 14 would still count as one day.
Jesus still slept in the grave (Acts 2:27) on Saturday. Saturday Nisan 15 would count as one day.
God resurrected Jesus out of the grave on Sunday. Thus, Sunday Nisan 16 would count as one day.
Since it was still dark when people went to the empty tomb that ' darkness ' could have been still considered as night.
We get up after midnight and still consider that as night even though we do Not use a Lunar calendar.
I find there is No mention as to the ' amount of hours ' Jonah was in the belly of the BIG fish at Jonah 1:17.
So, it seems we do Not have to be dealing with literal 24 hour days.
