bryan and Hefe...straight fwd answers.
I think people try a certain % of the time...not all the time.
People can't
'be like Jesus' until they advance to somewhat close to the frequency,
the consciousness that Jesus achieved...try as they may they don't do what he said to do, even.
Anybody can ask a Christian friend, (a good one for atheists to ask of Christians),
"Have you once in your life...
turned everything off, even fasted for, say,a week,(ok, how about a long Holiday weekend?
Friday eve to a Monday off evening)....to do ONE thing Jesus told you to do?
Take: Seek the Kingdom of Heaven first?"
See what they say.
How could a Christian act like Christ when they can not do even one
thing Jesus said to DO!?
See what I mean? All the spouting of scripture is clanging cymbals...'walk the walk'.
Ask them: "Do you pray without ceasing....do you focus on the things above and not the things on the earth...do you practice being anxious for nothing? " (ok Hefe, Paul said those things, but they are pretty instructive!
)
The simplest of advice and they are not doing even one or two of them.
And you can tell they haven't...they have not reached to that clarity of mind,
yet.
Maybe they will by next week...why?
Because you can be as close to God as you want to be...it all
depends on how much time you're willing to put into it.
(I say this more because of the friends I counsel in real life...not specific people here.)
