Those cities I bolded are the ones I've been to. None of them have anything interesting to begin with. It doesn't matter if they are conservative or liberal. Those cities are extremely dull, thus, there isn't anything good to say about them.
I love all those cities you bolded, I've been/lived in all except SLC. They are wonderful, family oriented cities, great places to settle and grow a family, inexpensive, middle-class, some culture, not known for the big nightlife or the 3:00am bars. I suspect if you are a bored teenager, you would dream about Chicago or San Diego instead.
"Conservative" and "liberal" are prob misunderstood/misused terms....
I tend to think of regions in terms of capitalist vs socialist....
Thankfully, most of those who are more intelligent and able to create wealth are capitalists....and tend to live/work in urban regions that are most economically relevant.....and enjoyable in which to live....suspect many capitalists don't want others telling them how to live, nor wish to advise others re: their lifestyle choices....but would rather live/work/socialize amongst those of similar economic strata....
Prob hear more whining in media re: socialist stuff b/c many in media are poorly-paid (deservedly) and live in dumpy parts of major cities like NYC/LA/WashDC, etc, so many media-types like to advise rest of US that everyone should ride mass transit; periodically get mugged by "diverse" neighbors; donate at least x% of one's money (beyond socialist taxes already paid) to pay for poor life choices of others, blah-blah....
too true. Apparently at a local high school, some children who joined the young republican club got grades lower in some classes simply due to the fact that their teachers were liberal and marked them down for not sharing their same views, which is completely ridiculous. made me mad to hear about that

Sixflags FiestaTexas, Sea World, Splashtown,Schlitterbahn, and the hundreds of clubs spreadout through the city.

I think you mean, tell OTHERS to donate money to the narrow list of approved causes, as that seems to be the more common modus operandi.
