Nope, Atlanta doesn't really have any influence over Texas.....unless you want a Coke, shop at Home Depot, need building supplies or consumer products from Georgia Pacific, fly on Delta or ship anything with UPS.
Nope, no influence at all..........
Nah, we'll drink Dr. Pepper, shop at Lowes to support Charlotte, there are plenty of other manufactoring companies to choose from, and we fly Continental, Southwest, or American in Texas.

I'm out. I'm taking the train Downtown to join a couple of hundred thousand other Atlantans for the Peach Drop.
Happy New Year everybody.
Hundred of thousands? Not even close since they are looking for at least 40K, but enjoy the Peach Drop!
if you've been to chick fila, home depot, delta airlines, coke, use ga pacific, or use ups you've been influenced by GA. If you've drank dr.pepper, used texas intruments, used at&t, been to dave and busters, been to citgo, you've been influenced by texas. If you've been to burger king, hard rock cafe, used CSX railines, used Gate petroleum, used DHL, or gone on a cruise to latin america (LOL) or used to watch ALL THAT on TV in the 90's you've been influenced by FLA
Atlanta does not have any influence on the state of Texas. Since the job market is still very good in the Austin/San Antonio area I believe this area will boom and have close to 5 million in about 10 years. I think Houston and Dallas/FW will boom along with the Rio Grande Valley. I really believe that Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta and Raleigh with still boom at a slower pace.
..So 2 million people are suppose to move to this fantasy area in only 10 years. A fantasy area that has combined growth of under half a million people.
I don't consider shopping at a store that happens to have its corporate headquarters within a certain city as being influenced by that city (in which case, Bentonville, AK would be the TRUE capital of the South).

Or if you drive a car in ATL, you've been influenced by Texas.
