I like Azada Grill. They will give you samples so you can try the different fillings to decide what you want.

Yes I was there on their first Friday night, so still some bugs to work out with service and entrees. We left disappointed, but I'll be back to try again in a few weeks.

Yes! I am new to the area (from TX). My husband and I know all about good Mexican food! We love the authentic Mexican food, not the fake "Tex-Mex" version as we call it.

Anyway, we have found 2 awesome Mexican food places here in Springs that I highly recommend:
- Tlaquepaque on Galley Rd
- Carniceria Fruteria on Airport Rd

Sorry, those are too far south of Woodman. Heck, they are even south of Austin Bluffs. Haven't you seen the map of Cos that has labeled all points south of Platte Ave as "Here be Dragons, enter at your own risk."
:-)

On a similar side note, I've noticed The Independant is doing a series on best Tacos in town. Most places they are labeling as good taco joints are tending to be on the southeast side of town. Not all, but a lot.

Has anyone tried the food truck in Monument, that parks at the trailhead for the Santa Fe trail off Highway 105? I have seen in a few times and wondered if it was good.

I recently tried Mi Mexcio, at Academy and Austin Bluffs. I was very pleased. Plus, they have a pretty good Happy Hour!

Vellejos is a secret.
It even stayed the same after the grandma died!
I went there 30 years ago.
Family owned...each day is fresh, so each day is different.
111 S. Corona ..that is south of Colorado Ave where Pikes Peak turns into it..
old Train Station area.
No beer, tho.
Check out the reviews.

If you do not mind baskets and disposable plates...Monica's on Fillmore near Cascade...
another secret, yet they have won a couple awards...love their red salsa.

I remember Texas as having a lot of cumin in their food...Ah...'Mi Tierra', the memories.

But if i really want great Mex...Blue Bonnet in Denver, close to I-25 and Alameda...
400 block of s. Broadway...the best.

Woodland Park...Fiesta Mexicana!

Don't laugh, but I never complain at South of the Border at Southgate...
big menu...fried avacados! Great drinks. Good salsa.
