What's happening with the circular buildings on Tresser? I see one of them is fenced off. Are we finally demo'ing these beauties?

There's not enough space for six lanes without physically expanding the road.

The northern tower has been empty and fenced off for quite a while. I don't know what exactly is going on there. The pedestrian bridge that crosses Tresser Blvd and connects the northern tower with the two southern ones is also closed.

For now they are supposedly cleaning it from some form of asbestos. At least that is the feeling I got from reading the letter my parents got prior to being moved into another tower.
Though the letter was very crafty written and definitely felt layered up specifically not mentioning asbestos but one of it lesser known form. I had to do online search to figure what element they were talking about.
I guess this is done so that people won't start the panic and call in all layers.

What's happening in reality in the backroom dealings? I have no idea.

That's been closed for at least a decade.

Update

I took this photo earlier today. It seems they added new floors and expanded the metal outlining, which I guess acts as support for the walls and windows.

As a lifelong stamford resident, my problem with the developments is that they always have the same "cardboard box" designs it seems on these buildings.....

Also there are barely any good shots of Stamford in general. You google Hartford, New haven and their skylines have pictures.....not too many stamford pics..I think im gonna buy a camera and take some pics.

I have many nice shots of all areas of Stamford and in all seasons, but very few of them are exposed to the public online. I have been entertaining the idea of donating my personal collection to the Stamford Historical Society. I already notice many differences in the city by looking at photos I took a handful of years ago. I'm sure they would appreciate them as a way of photographically visualizing the Stamford of the early 21st century. A century from now many people will appreciate them as much as I appreciate those people that over a hundred years ago took random photos of places and today its a joy to see how those places looked like vs how they look today.
