In west Richardson, my power went back on at about 6 AM, after having gone out around the same time as BigD's. I lost the Bradford pear in front. Good riddance. I knew the first good ice storm would take it out. I cleared the sidewalk, but now I need to find a tree service with chainsaws to come out. Am eye-ing the elm in back cautiously.

We drove around the hood a few minutes ago and saw quite a few busted trees and branches. You could also see places still without power. I'm not sure if the power is out on the dart trains or the tracks iced over but there is a couple trains parked on the tracks over near 75 & Lovers.

Lakewood has a lot of large tree limbs down all over the area.

I think that DART light rail is having ice problems, both on the rails and the overhead electric lines. They are running busses between stations to keep people moving.

Great photos, Saintmarks, thanks for posting, hate to see so much damage to the trees... hmmm, wait a second, this is Dallas and everyone knows we don't have trees! Too bad we have even less than that now!

Anyway, really great to hear that your electricity is back on!
And yours, too, Beany! And, hopefully, BigD found her's already back on as well!

Per DART:
Quote:
In spite of day and night-long efforts to keep the light rail system moving we are suspending operations and using buses on the rail routes. This will help us consolidate our service recovery efforts and get us back in operation more quickly.
Also heard Jim Cantore from TWC state that the next Storm Dion should move north of the area, so hope that holds true!

And, a recent update, Sunday's Dallas Marathon Canceled Due to Winter Storm

Take care All, stay safe & warm!

Be careful everyone. A good wind will take down more branches even when the ice is gone.

Hope you all have power.
