Well of course my favs are on there, rotts and pits. Noid, I hate those lists, but for the sake of arguement, I had chows for awhile and I would tend to agree they could be considered on that list as much as any of them due to what I perceived as a sort of anti social attitude (mine anyway). Years ago when chows were a popular breed, there was no lack of attack stories in the press. I guess every dog has it day.
That being said, I dont agree with their statements about rotts being agressive, or pits LOCKING jaws.
I was surprised to see a Bullmastiff not make the list- some can be nice, but others are nutty- also the Perro de Presa Canario should have been in the top five

I read somewhere that pits don't have locking jaws, and their jaw structure are as normal as any other dog. I admitt these list are subjective and all about experience with that animal.
I read something recently about a vet stating that pit's jawas are just like any other dog's. They have big muscles so they can chomp down hard, but the jaw DOES NOT lock.
I have owned ten pits over a thirty year span. They have ranged in size from 40 pounds to over 100! All have been unique in many aspects and similar in others. Structurally their jaws are similar to those of other canines except that they tend to be heavier in structure: their skulls are are heavier and more robust and their jaw musculature tends to be greater than that of other dog breeds. That said, pit's jaws DO NOT LOCK. This is a myth.
I have read that chows are often quick to react despite their resemblance to Teddy bears and they often are most dangerous around children. As for me my dashies are dangerously easy to fall in love with.
7 of 9 There are lots of dog breeds that have black tongues!
