As for your argument about the VA governorship, you are wrong. At best, the chairmanship was his because of Clinton support in the 1990's.
He was the Dem nominee for governor because he was an awesome fundraiser who got the DNC out of debt and is responsible for Democrats winning those governorships and 2 senate seats in Virginia.
Terry McAwful left his pregnant wife crying in the car while he attended a fundraiser. Great guy.
How come none of y'all have mentioned Sheila Jackson Lee yet? Come on. She's also representative of today's Democrat party, and she's sure to be a threat in 2020.
I would be very surprised if any of the Democrats listed in the poll are going to be nominated in 2020, or much of a threat to Trump at all. House members have had virtually no success running for the presidency. Sure, Trump broke all precedent, but he was a celebrity who has been a household name for years, and a lot of voters wanted a leader who DIDN'T have experience in politics and promised to overthrow the system.
Kander's firearms ad was great, but being Secretary of State in state government isn't even much of a stepping stone for being elected to the Senate which he failed to achieve, let alone the presidency. Kaine didn't seem to have much impact one way or the other on the election last year, and Warren is too old and very polarizing. Nominating her would likely turn off moderate voters in the purple states that the Democrats need to defeat Trump.
There are other possibilities among senators and governors - and maybe a Democratic equivalent of Trump who swoops in from the non-political world and has pre-existing name recognition. The 2020 Democratic primaries will certainly not be a staid affair.

That's why if we had a more Center leaning Democrat feel Webb would accept the VP position. This he make an excellent VP.
Webb turned down nothing. He removed his name from consideration but was never even close to the top of the list.
This is proven by who actually was at the top of the list. The media list when Webb "dropped out" was 30 names long.
None. Trump will serve two full terms and then turn the keys over to another Republican.
Hopefully Rand Paul.
