I am not doubting anyone, but if she is crying out for help, she is doing it to the wrong people.
She doesn't even listen to the people who try to help her, and I used to be one of them. People try to lift her up and tell her dark skinned women are beautiful, and they are.
Until someone says yes its true. If you are dark skinned this is what happens, that she comes back and jumps back on the pity party.
If she is suicidal and knows it, then she needs to consult a mental health facility or call 911, not post on city-data because who are we gonna call? Ghostbusters?
Yes, Nyanna needs help. I don't know what she looks like. All I know is she is a dark skinned black woman with kinky hair who is in oppression. Men of all colors pick things up for all women around her who drop things but don't help her. Where does she live? Don't know.

they tend to just assume. Like some assume all light skinned or long softer hair are mixed and some assume if you look hot you're mixed because they don't admit women without white in them are attractive. It's all assumptions really. Individual basis.
Heh - the opposite can be readily assumed as well: white women are ugly, unless they have a little color in them.
Or, perhaps, people just have different tastes in aesthetics. Personally, I think the south american brown is the lovelier of hues. And some people consider the almost translucent tint of a chinese woman's skin to be exotic and desireable. As for hair, I'm not big on natty dreads or wiry hair. But I also don't like the thin delicate soft wispy hair either. I do love the thick, heavy, luxurious jet locks of women from India, or the natural body of the hair of tribal Americans.
As for me, I'm caucasian, of northern European/Slavic/Russian descent. I have pale skin, freckles, mousy brown hair, dark-dark-brown eyes, and my husband thinks I'm gorgeous. And that makes me -feel- gorgeous. And therefore - I am.
I really didn't hear this lightskinned darkskinned crap get this bad until the rappers from the south became popular. I was looking at some old r and b videos from the 80s and they had dark skinned,medium or normal sized women with normal sized proportions and natural hair. Remember Sir Mix alots video? It had a Normal looking black woman to me.It was an eye opener for me. I would say I didn't start seeing the present videos with light skinned women with abnormal proportions and long weaves until 2000.
We must not forget that these trash rappers have GREAT influence on how children think.

Stop the pity party. If you don't think that you are beautiful, then no one else will either. The power of attraction has a lot to do with more than just physical attributes. It is also about the enrgy that someone gives out to the world. Work on that for yourself because even the most physically unattractive people are able to find love and happiness in this world. If a woman with no arms and no legs or a man with cranofacial distortions (yet they have great attitudes) can find love, I am sure that you can as well.
ETA (just re-read the last part of your sad little post): I love being a Black woman. And I really do feel sorry for you but I haven't experienced this same "misery".

They are much more respected by men and considered girlfriend material. When I go out I see more lightskinned women with a man than darkskinned women (unless they are pushing a strolling with a bunch of babies in it) Just being real.

So is it just as sad and depressing when a woman with light hair or "dishwater" hair dyes her hair a rich brown, auburn, or even black? Because I see this all the time and it never bothers me as a natural brunette. People like to change their look up, and look at all of the unnatural looking brunettes out there. Celeb examples are Katy Perry and Megan Fox.
as far as black women go, I have to say one of the most beautiful woman I have seen since moving to Boston was a half black half white woman who had bronze skin skin, was 5'8", and had golden highlights. It was magnificent and that's coming from a straight woman.
I hear this b.s. in real life and online. I wasn't even expecting to stumble across this but I did. So I guess since I don't have light bronzed skin, white ancestry and long golden highlights I'm ugly. So tired of hearing that the only way a woman of color can be beautiful is if she looks like she is mixed with White

Also,that poster got it wrong. Its not like the black women willingly were partners to the white men. They were forced to be,they were slaves. Plus,time and time again I have to repeat this,but rape has nothing to do with attractiveness.
It has to do with power. They simply raped the slave women because they had power over them.
I have not read this entire thread but I would tell any woman who does not view her self as pretty to get her sh*t together and make the most of what you have. not many of us are prefect beauties. find out how to dress for your body. learn how to make up your face and most of all learn how to be an engaging, confident person. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. no one is attracted to a person who thinks they are unattractive.

I'm more mad at the fact she thinks plain old Sarah looks better than Hillary.
See,even though Hillary is more accomplished,and still working I might add, she still gets dogged for her looks.
Plus,she IS 20 years older than Sarah.
