yep the storm front parted and missed Rochester completly. I was looking forward to some rain to help water my yard... it's looking pretty droopy. Though I am glad the tornados missed us.

forgot to mention, little shadow caught the cat [3 lbs, 24"] and two of the three bluegills.
Just got done licking lips - about 2/3 of the cat was breaded & baked, remainder was seasoned & baked... tasty!

What a fun thread!!
We have gone healthy , so I am learning things to replace most of what I used to cook.
Tonight's Menu
Ginger Chicken(Trader Joes) grilled on George Foreman
carrots & snow peas sauteed in 1tsp olive oil
romaine salad with salad veg's
brown/wild rice that microwaves in 90 seconds

Husband has lost 25 pounds in 5 weeks by eating mostly
lean meats , lots of produce, whole grains, fat free
dairy.

For supper Memorial Day I was cooking just for myself. I ended up eating a simple salad, some pepperoni bread I had just made from scratch, and a simple marinara sauce for dipping. I made 2 loaves, each about a foot long, and ate an entire one over the course of an hour.

Well....I am in the mood for Kabobs, and marinated the beef cubes (sirloin) yesterday in a "tangy Thai marinade".
I am going to arrange it on skewers (soak them in water for 1/2 hour, so the meat won't stick) with onions, peppers and mushrooms, and just cover the grilling surface with aluminum paper, rub that with olive oil, and slowly grill them.
I think, I will end up making some Jasmin rice with it, fresh tossed salad with garden grown fresh herbs, and some nice, fresh, piping hot french bread on the side.

For desert: soft and yummy brownies.

Gosh....I am so hungry for that......huh.

Morning all, hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We stayed home and didn't do much.On Sunday we had a crawfish boil, yum. Yesterday neighbor brought us some brisket, yummy and then we were too pooped to cook out last night so hubby ran to KFC and we had chicken. Tasted pretty good, probably because I didn't cook it. LOL
