Went to a party and noshed thru the evening. Addictive = cocktail sausage wrapped in bacon, speared, then brown sugar sprinkled all over and baked until the bacon cooked through. They had created their own thick, syrupy smokey glaze. People were hiding the toothpicks under napkins and such. Bump an elbow, and suddenly a haystack of toothpicks rolled out on their plate.

We went to "30-30 night" as planned and had 30 cent meatball subs and 30 cent fries. My daughter had a couple of 30 cent vodka cranberries and I had four vodkas on the rocks. DH had 3 subs, two orders of fries, and two cans of sprite. The three of us ate for around $7.00.

Tonight I'm cooking dinner at my mother-in-law's. I'm making chicken cacciatori for us carnivores, and there will be pasta and salad for the vegetarians.

We have a lemon in the refrigerator that needs to be used. So...

I think we are having pan-fried salmon patties, chilled pasta salad, and baked beans.

We're having burrito night. Filling options (some are leftovers from other meals ) are: black beans, chicken, grated cheddar, sweet onion, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa.

Tonight we have yogurt/besan curry dish with chapatis, chili and lime pickles, sliced tomatoes with spring onions and lemon water. For dessert Carrot Halva.

My yogurt/besan curry dish I prepare like this....

I mix 1 cup yogurt with 2 heaped tsp of besan flour together to make a sauce. In a pot ..I add in olive oil 1 tsp.cumin seeds til they crackle than I add 1 onion and fry til golden brown, add thumb thick chopped ginger and 4 chopped cloves, fry for a moment and add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder,1 tsp curry powder,4 green cut chilies. Now I add yogurt /besan mixture, mix well with whisk and bring it to a boil, constantly stirring and reduce it to low heat. Texture will get thicker,so add a bit of water. Don't let it burn!We like it creamy . Last, add salt. Now we usually add either 2 tbsp peas, chopped spring onions or even fresh cut cilantro/coriander. The dish we serve with chapatis or rice. We have sometimes leftover and the dish does thicken the next day,I just add some water, whisk it gently and check the flavor while it slowly rewarms. Mostly I need to add some more salt.
