We’re babysitting for our wee granddaughter, so I couldn’t very well cook, could I? My hands were full. Hubby went out for bad Chinese.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ☘

I went out early to a local place to avoid checkpoints and DUI drivers. Tonight and New Year's Eve are called "amateur nights" for a reason. I did remember to wear green.

Enjoyed a burger and fries. Drank a Guinness.

I was going to try making corned beef and cabbage in my new Instant Pot (never made it before at all), but DH didn't know that and he worked this morning and ate corned beef and cabbage for lunch. I don't eat corned beef, so it was just for him. I worked in a deli in college and just the smell of corned beef and pastrami made me never want to even taste it and I never have.

So I think I will make it tomorrow, but I'm going to make it in the crockpot instead. I'm not used to my Instant Pot yet and I don't want it to come out tough. So I figure I will cook the corned beef all day in the crock pot and add cabbage the last couple of hours.

It's supposed to snow tonight so I think I'll make some beef chili in case we're snowed in.
