I just broke-down and ordered a LG-Android from Tracfone.....triple minutes for the life of the phone. 65 bucks on Ebay.

OK, I would have kept my old talk/text-only phone, but I dropped it in a can of stain and it did not survive.

Galaxy S2 under a grandfathered $35 a month plan. I purchased a ton of extra batteries, so I could see using this phone for many years.

Haha - this makes me think of someone who can't even do a DIY job without having a phone in the other hand! (I'm sure that's not you!)

ATT gophone is $45 for 4 gb/month or $65/8gb. Windows Nokia phone is $50 new...Been pleased with all of it. I shop at home on computer. Windows phones don't have good banking or epurchases support. Also doesn't have all the apps...But it suits my needs and never ran out of bandwidth as long as I did not watch video on phone...Windows phones lasted years and every Iphone I tried to buy used had charger after charger go bad within 1-2 months so really more expensive and flaky to use Iphone. Found out the bad charges are common complaint against Iphones.... New Iphone cost is unrealistic on my income...

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Sprint since March 2015.

It's the perfect smartphone for my needs. Removable battery, can root and install custom ROMs and kernels, pretty good camera if you know how to work manual settings (ISO, white balance, etc.), fast enough for basic things such as web browsing, and a big screen. The removable battery and lockdown of bootloaders post Galaxy S6 ruined Samsung for me. I refuse to touch any Samsung phone until the bring back at least the ability to unlock bootloaders. Next phone will probably be the Google Pixel 2 whenever that comes out.
