This is hard to say (although it's been a lot of fun to read, great posts!) What people need to realize is that New England is a completely different animal than say Tampa, and the same difference goes for comparing San Diego and San Francisco. Too many factors to say which one is better.
I will say the Northeast is very overrated. I grew up there and I could honestly care less about NYC. I worked there for 2.5 years and I will say the dumbest people I've ever met live, work, and thrive there.
Northeast has it's fair share of dumpy cities: Philadelphia, Baltimore, Hartford come to mind. I could never imagine living in any of these places -- nevermind having to be there for more than a few days. Boston is alright as is DC, but I wouldn't want to live in either place. I love Northern New England but could never live there either.
The Southeast I particularly enjoy: Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Savannah, Raleigh, etc. I find more similarities between the S.E. and say Los Angeles than I do LA and NYC.
Then you have the juggernaut -- CA with San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego which is leaps and bounds better than the crap stretch of I-95 between Virginia and Boston.

Your city choices are just as bad as your food choices.
Yar, Raleigh and Orlando great places, NYC and Philly terrible.
Chicago and New Orleans crappy monotonous bar food, but Denver and Austin, wahooo.

Well obviously you have something in common with SE & WC regions of the US b/c both are "SUNBELT" regions to be laid back & spread out.
For living: East Coast
For vacationing: West Coast
It's my idea, or the people in west coast it's more friendly?
The WC people are friendly, but unfortunately they can be flakey & superficial at the same time. It's very difficult to make decent & committed friends to do things such as arrange date & time in order to meet somewhere.

He is trying to say how can you say everyone on the West Coast in superficial. I can see how the SoCal area is link that but the SF Bay? Seattle? Portland? Inland California? Have you been to all these places because I dont see many superficial people out there no more then anywhere else in area.
Yes those WC cities too that I bolded & italicized with its wannabe Euro socialist utopia to be flawed. Yes again, I lived in the SFBA for 4.5 yrs & I visited Seattle, Portland, & Vancouver (Canada). Don't get me wrong all of those cities are nice such as its climate & geography. All 4 of those cities are built in the center & good mass transit, not to be compared at all with LA (A city to destroy its historical architecture & mass transit). The people of those 4 cities are joyful over killers on their smug nonsense. Have you watched on TV/Net the South Park episode, "SF Smug" or Portlandia? You'll know what I mean about it. Inland CA? Yes, I visited Fresno & its people are very friendly & pleasant, but no offense they can be a bit boring due to their rural lifestyle.
Lord. You're citing television shows as proof of anything?
That's as ridiculous as saying the East Coast is a depraved and violent place ... just look at Jersey Shore or The Sopranos.
You texted it, not me, for you to like & watch those TV shows.
