The girl thing isn't quit a myth either. I know several 20something girls who have a preference for cut. I'm not saying you can't get laid or that you won't find a gf or wife or whatever if you don't have it done, but if you took a poll based on nothing but that then cut would be the clear winner. Fortunately that's not what most things are based on so it's rarely an issue for anyone and even if it was you may not know or care, not everyone is willing to talk about it. It's only discussed not among more OUTGOING women...lol.
Silly....if you ask a guy what size breasts he prefers or whether he likes blondes...so what? If THAT makes a difference then ANYTHING else could as well.
Most women who don't like uncut men have never been with one. Believe me, if the guy is excited, you couldn't even tell the difference! So maybe the ladies who are so negative, the guy wasn't really into THEM either!
I am circumcised, my sons will be too, and from being in locker rooms and doing sports all throughout HS I have never seen a white person who isn't, and every girl I know considers uncut to be a turn off. If you are white and you don't want your son to be a the "wierd penis guy" in the locker room and to not be humiliated during his first sexual encounter when the girl says "ewww" then do it. If you don't, he will want to do it but be too scared to do it. There is no science behind it, it's just better looking and a cultural norm here amongst white people in the United States. It's easier maintenance, there is no pulling anything back you just clean it the same way you clean your thumb.
My white sons thank me for not having them circumcised.
It is becoming more and more popular to leave it au natural.
Personally I think it is barbaric to do such things to a small infant. There is no reason to cut something off the body.

That makes sense, because an erect uncircumsized penis looks the same as a circumsized. The penis head simpiy expands out of the foreskin.
Only time it looks different is when flaccid, and this is the only time someone would notice the difference, and wonder why guys in a locker room would be staring, and why someone's penis would be flaccid when he's with a girl. That girl must not be attractive.
Circumcision rates in this country are falling. I believe it's about 50/50, maybe even less now.
In most other countries, people do not circumcise.
My husband is circumcised, but we opted to leave our son intact. We have NO regrets. It's his body, and cutting off a piece of his genitals just didn't seem right. If he wants to be circumcised later on in life, it will be HIS choice.
I get the skeevies thinking about it, doesn't it smell??
Really? It is the same as a woman keeping her labia clean. How about if we just cut off the labia than it would be much easier to keep things clean down there? Doesn't that sound silly?
So, I have my views on this and I was interested in learning about your views as well.
A few ground rules if I may:
I'm interested in SCIENTIFIC reasons. NOT how you 'feel' about the topic...or what "god" says. I really want to know WHY you are for or against circumcision and would like to learn about the scientific reasons behind your position.
My view is that since it's not 'MY' body, I don't really have a right to modify it. I've read that circumcision 'may prevent' some types of cancer, but i'm not sure about the sources. I've also heard about cleanliness and the reduced chances of getting infection IF a newborn is circumcised.....but then again, i've heard the counter claim that it's more likely that the newborn will get infections from the circumcision itself!
What say you? Please provide sources to back your claim if possible.
It also reduces the chance of infections when someone is older and maybe either physically or mentally impaired and cannot clean themselves as well. I have heard of the results of the latter. It's not good.
The west has the lowest rate by far. Midwest is generally the highest. North and South are CLOSE to the midwest rate, but lower.
I saw a study.. The states where the RIC rate is the lowest are the states where Medicaid has stopped paying for it.
So, you could extrapolate from that, the WANT for circumcision hasn't gone down a great deal.. The availability of it has.
You're right about the west, but Texans in the South are <38% circumcized. Texas Medicaid pays for circumcision. Majority of Texans by choice, choose not to circumcise their newborns. CA and Florida dropped Medicaid funded circumcision because the practice had fallen below 40% according to CDC by 2002 when it was taken out in Florida. The majority were not circumcising their newborns, when it was still available via Medicaid and eventually taken out.
In 2011, San Francisco, popular public sentiment to ban male circumcision as illegal almost made the November ballot.
Why dont we just completely skin everyone alive as infants?...I know it can be a real bear to have to shower everyday in hopes of preventing those pesky skin infections and skin cancers.

When I went to high school in the \USA all men were circumsized except for one late arrival from Mexico. When my son was born I considered it a no brainer, but was surprised at the amount of "jewish conspiracy" comments from the registered health people and found that the percentage in BC Canada was only 50%!!
My brother was born in a small town after me where the only doctor was a refusal, and the nearest rabbi was probably 2,000 miles away. I was prepared to call a rabbi if the Canadian doctors were not willing. It was done, but my Asian wife was surprised as to what a big deal it turned out to be. My son is pretty happy I lead the charge on that issue. My brother has had nothing but grief over not being cut.
