They literally can not even go a few hours without a cigarette. For example, I used to have friends who did not drink, but smoked. They would complain about my drinking, and vice versa. The difference is I am not an addict like a smoker. I go to work, and I do not have to drink there, in fact, I can't unless I want to be unemployed. I also can go days without drinking just fine, where as I have literally had multiple friends who were out of smokes, and money, search ashtrays for butts to smoke. One thing I have always been adamant on is I will never support smoking in any way. It is the principal of the thing. I will buy someone a beer, but I will be damned to buy someone a cigarette. I sincerely hope you do kick the habit. As I said, smokers who are not in denial feel the same way you do.

you slay me..you get on your soap box here and go on & on about smokers but very proudly your handle is 'Las Vegas Drunk" one of your status updates was "drunk" your profile pic is a bunch of drunken college age kids and you what????
Want us to take you seriously:sma ck:
get a grip alcohol has had negative impacts as well...people killed by drunk drivers....families totally ripped apart and destroyed by a member being an alcoholic and yes even costs tons in medical. Shall we try banning it again???

Good for you. Your inability to quit isn't justification for promoting an all-out ban, though. If you want to quit, then quit. There's no reason I should have to simply because you can't.

No, I still think they should be outlawed....they do hurt ourselves, others and our atmosphere. I suggest reading The Easy Way to Quit Smoking, it is a wonderful book on our misconceptions of what cigarettes do for us.

I am sure you are a smoker, so you have to try to attack me and take it off topic. The truth is, everyone has their sins. That is fine as long as you do not affect others with it. For example, my former roommate is a Mormon. He has never smoked, did any drugs, or even taken a sip of alcohol. However, he is a sex addict. That is his business. He did not affect me with it, and that is all that matters. Ok, I am far from a sex addict, or a druggie, nor do I smoke. However, I like to drink in which it affects me negatively at the most. I do not force others to drink unlike you do with your smoking.

They hurt our atmosphere??

Ourselves, ok... Others, nope - if you actually examine the science, instead of relying on the propaganda... but the atmosphere? That's just laughable.

I stopped smoking over a year ago now and will never go back. I cannot stand the smell of the poison they emit. I can smell a cig a mile away!
I was dumb to smoke for many years and finally realized what a stupid habit it is, how unhealthy and such a waste of money! I just threw my pack out the car window one day and that was it!
I say ban the suckers!

I would suggest ignoring most of these recent posters on this thread. I would not doubt most are Republicans who only care about themselves, not others.

Nobody's "forcing" you to smoke.

Let's look at the two situations you've posted in this thread. In one, you voluntarily moved into a house with eight smokers. Did someone put a gun to your head? Did the government threaten to jail you if you didn't? In the other, you were irritated by someone that was smoking - while voluntarily playing at a craps table - and you assaulted them, leading to your being banned from the casino. Then you blame the guy you assaulted for your attack against them...

You have some serious issues. Really. I suggest you seek counseling before you start beating your spouse - because "she made you do it."

+1 for you too!!! Great job, I am proud of you for quiting. It takes a lot of willpower some others here obviously do not have. I have never smoked, but I feel exactly the same way you do.
