We want the law enforced and the border protected. It's that simple. If they want to come here "legally", we have no problems with that. Is that so hard to understand? We don't want La Raza, etc. saying they are going to take a portion of our country and flying their flag here. We have a flag already - it's the stars and the stripes.

If the borders are not sealed, it purely political - for both parties. But, the Democrats were the ones standing and applauding Calderon. That was very telling.

Calderon is incensed only because that would stop the $1 Billion of our money going back to Mexico. He needs to fix his own country so his people will want to stay there.

Again, no it was not ratified by 3/4ths of the states.

28 Senators were not allowed to vote, and the Southern States had bogus appointed governments. Appointed by the Federal government. Which in itself was unconstitutional.

Instead of trying to overturn a constitutional amendment (In all honesty, right or wrong it will not happen), Us voters need to SCREAM to our Rep's about enforcing existing laws, and deporting Illegals With their children in tow. The Children can come back when they are older.. Think it sounds crazy? we have done it before to Mexico during the Great Depression. We talked about this issue in a Sociology class few years back, remembered it and thought I would throw it out there 1930s Mexican Deportation: Educator brings attention to historic period and its affect on her family

"28 Senators" have nothing to do with the ratification by the states.

Regardless of how bogus you consider the governments of the Southern States, they were the governments and they ratified the amendment. Under the de fact officer doctrine, those ratifications would be valid even if the governments actually were "bogus."

But more to the point, the 14th Amendment encompasses the most frequently litigated causes of action today, and is therefore in front of the US Supreme Court more often than any other Constitutional provision to include the First. They have had countless opportunities to declare it invalid. Instead they continue to base decisions upon it.

Sorry... you're about 150 years late on this one.

OMG. It's about time someone seriously stepped up to the plate on this issue.
If this thing happens, it is the beginning of the end for the momentum of illegal immigration. You double layer the fence across the whole border and make E-Verify mandatory coupled with sending out SSN mismatches it's the nail in the coffin. Businesses have grown weary of paying under-the-table to their labor for fear of workplace injuries and the tremendous liabilities involved(especially with mandatory E-Verify in place).

I would give all of my lifeforce if that's what it took to make this thing happen....
