Boy, is that a well-kept secret! Just think how mild and unimportant chicken pox is if you catch it as a kid, and how dire and miserable -- even fatal -- it is if you catch it as an adult.

exactly......i think society has gotten carried away with science. inventions have made us lazy, antisocial and made to believe we should never experience pain or suffer. there are positives, but these are the negatives.
like buddhism says, 'there is suffering in life'
plain and simple.....you do what you can, but don't think you can avoid and control this. look what happens when you do.....new strains, no immunities, etc. it happens ANYWAY. its part of life, look at us trying to escape it? its a mere sickness that lasts a few days then goes away, and we think we're going to die if we get it. its unpleasant, but its not the worst that could happen.

turn off your tv, stop using hand sanitizer and get dirty.....you'll be healthier in the end.

YES!!! Thank you. Finally someone sees the light. I get annoyed when people say that you should never be sick. Getting sick only make you stronger!

Default Do Your Research

Do your research about H1N1 Flu (swine Flu) because it came in 3 waves and the the 3rd was the deadlyest!!! This is just the 2nd time around for the first wave so for those of you that aren't concerned you should be!!

concerned like how?

should i stop eating pork, wear a mask everytime i stop outside my house? you're in the medical profession, the side of the profession that makes money from other people being ill. the side that thinks giving newborn babies a hepatitis b shot at birth is 'wise'. away with your fear mongering!!! aside from being blatantly stupid and swapping spit with someone whose sick, i think most people abide by the basics, other than that its nothing YOU can control.

what's with all these 'waves' and 'strains'? how do people know? is there an alarm that goes off whenever a new case of flu strikes? does a team of scientists rush in with white coats and a mini lab and start testing and analyzing? or is that something fear mongers have made up to scare the crap out of everyone?

My wife is a Nurse as well, In the ER actually so she deals with everything that comes around. I don't see her worried about this mild form of flu.
