Default Missouri loses a notch in population ranking

Missouri has grown in population since 2000, but it hasn't grown has rapidly as other states, according to census figures released today.

In fact, our state has dropped a notch in the rankings of growth.

That's great news. It means the Califoreigners and the Florimmigrants aren't moving here in droves. It only seems so.

Welcome to Missouri, though, to all who REALLY want to be Missourians.

This does not surprise me much because Missouri and Kansas have seen anemic economic growth since about 2000.

Those Califoreigners sure like Texas. I think I see 1 or 2 California plates a day in Austin. Although I did see one recently in Missouri...

We are here and we love it. LOLOLOLOL We came from CA. Yep, cold as hell to us, but eventually our bodies will get more used to it. Kids are sure looking forward to some snow.

I would think that most Missourians would be happy as all get out that not as many people are moving here. I know I am.

Man, Junky, you just got here and you sound like you're already wanting to bar the door behind you! I admire that. I think you're well on your way to becoming a real Missourian.

Oh, all right, you can come on in--as long as you don't forget to bring that good-lookin' wife.

Since I'm retiring next week and we'll be headin' your way in the spring, that give me plenty of free time to recruit old hippies litering the streets of the bay area and talk 'em into movin' ta MO.
