No, I was called on the 12th of the month and informed that I was approved and I needed to come in to sign some additional forms. I went in the same day and signed the additional income/asset forms. I was told at that time that the next person to contact me would be the Customer Service Supervisor for the development . I was contacted on that Friday and at that time the appointment was made for me to come in to see the apartment.
I had my appointment on Monday to bring in my Security Deposit of $500, take a tour of the premises and to see my actual apartment (it's a studio).
I have my lease in hand (all 59 pages of it). I have another appointment on Friday to drop off my signed lease, check for April rent, and to pick up my keys. I opted for a 2 year lease.
My move in date is March 29. I have already scheduled Con Edison, Verizon FIOS and brought apartment insurance (this is an requirement)
I am in the short building, construction is still going on. My apartment does not have a washer/dryer, but there is a laundry room in the basement. All of the appliances (fridge, microwave, dishwasher and stove) are all white. There is even a garbage disposal. I have plenty of closet space (there are 3 closets in my place). The apartments uses a key fob instead of regular keys.
Thank you for sharing, very informative!
So there are no keys at all, just a keypad with a code?
No code, it's a computer managed button electronic deadbolt. The fob has a magnetic button that you press against the sensor, the light on the sensor turns green, and you enter, if you are at the wrong door, it will flash red (that's the best way I can describe it)
All packages are managed by the concierge service, they will accept your packages and leave a message for you. There is a large screen in the lobby and can check for building events and to see if you have any messages.

The fitness center is $100 a month
i've seen this key fob thing in an Avalon community before.. very high tech.
dammnnn $100 a month is there a pool? do you have to pay extra to use the lounges & stuff?
Lol, no pool. The lounge and stuff are all inclusive. The gym is opened 24 hours. The lounge areas closes at 11:00 pm. The concierge desk is opened from 11:00 am - 3:00 am. There is also a bike storage room. All of the apartments have central air and heat. There are 2 docking stations in the living/sleep area, but there are no overhead lights in the living/sleep area. You will need a lamp or two.
I have photos, but I am having some difficultly loading them, I will work on that later today.

A recent article about a man who interviewed for this building but was disqualified because he lives just outside community board 4.
There are some interesting bits of information that come up in the article;
All 10 apartments for disabled applicants are taken.
52,000 applications were received for this lottery.
