I feel lottery tenants wont be afforded the best views. i think they'll get the apts facing the other tower, or n/s, not the water view
100 percent. You can already tell on the website. All the market rate ones face the water view. And the grayed out apartments (presumably lottery apartments) all face the city.
From someone who currently resides at a lottery apartment, this a great opportunity. I've been reading some of the threads on here and see a theme. People think that there will be a "poor man's door" or that the amenities will only be for those paying market rate...Going by my current situation, if I have to pay a monthly fee to be able to use the amenities, I'm ok with that. A better quality of life for me and my family means I am willing to make small sacrifices Good luck everyone! I've applied and hope and pray I get in.
Good luck all! I'm becoming desperate. 130% AMI and I've been applying to almost all listings in Brooklyn/Manhattan since December 2020 - I haven't been asked to submit documentation for a single unit, even one I thought I had a low log for.

Can't complain about that that's what it usually is the lottery tenant get the apartments that's less desirable but the lottery apartments are rent stabilized

100% and also what might be a deal breaker for a tenant, might be perfect for another.
On another note, did anyone notice that a lot of these apartments, even those without a "view", have terraces? Idk about anyone else, but I'll take a private terrace over a view any day! As someone who has children, I'd rather have that extra space to let my child run free, safely, and have space for extra storage.
I’ve applied day it was posted, hope they pick me
I hope they pick you too but the day you applied makes no difference. All the HC applicants + any that applied by mail are randomized only *after* the application period closes and then everyone receives their log. As long as you applied within the entry period, you have the same chance as anyone else of getting a low log.
