God bless you people in NYC. I hope things return to normal for you all soon. I heard Doctors without Borders is in Queens, I didn't realize things were so dire there. My heart goes out to you all.
I just saw a fleet of military helicopters fly from the south of the city heading north again they were chinnok helicopters probably ferrying supplies.
Some points from Mayor Bloomberg's post-storm briefing this afternoon:
The City is working hard to get power restored to the rest of the public housing buildings which will hopefully have power back by tomorrow evening. (There are an extra 600 workers helping with this.)
50,000 Con Edison customers are still without power and there are 40,000 LIPA customers still without power.
NYC Rapid Repairs is a new program that will help repair homes that were damaged by Sandy. A person will have to have a FEMA id. number and then ask for the assistance. NYC Rapid Repairs will help homeowners get contractors to help with the work. This program should help with fixing homes starting next week. There has to be power on the street where the house is located and it must have a green placard in order to begin the work.
I just wanted to post and tell all of you I have continued to pray for all of you. God bless you and I hope that things get normal again very soon. To see the news is just heartbreaking.
FYI Ellen Degeneres is asking folks who were effected by "Sandy" to write her TV show. I believe the address was Ellen TV .Com
The shows website should have the info.
