^Not to downplay the severity of the traffic, but I'd be very happy if it only took me 10 extra minutes to get to/from work tomorrow. I've been hearing stories of 4 hour taxi rides.... what borough do you live in, if you don't mind me asking?
A security guard at the South Street Seaport observed approximately one dozen looters early this morning at the Brookstone on Fulton Street. Security guard Maurice Alinton tells us that when the flood water began receding around 3:45 a.m., he started making his rounds around the desolate shopping area, parts of which were still submerged. At that time, according to Alinton, the water was waist deep inside the Brookstone, and looters inside the store were busy wading through it, grabbing headphones and other high-end gadgets.
Looting has been going on all over, including SI where people are looting houses that have been damaged.
They have implemented a 3 passenger rule on any cars crossing into Manhattan.
Here I was hoping to drive in and save my poor BF who has been stuck at work since Sunday morning and now I can't even pick him up unless I get 2 people to go with me.
However I understand that it's being done to improve some of the traffic congestion.
Also remember guys, traffic lights are out in Manhattan below 39th Street.

Maybe he could get a car service easily if he goes at an off time = like 4 am or something. I don't know - just an idea.

Criminals unfortunately see misfortune and chaos as opportunity, They must have no soul, stealing from people who have damaged homes and have suffered a great loss to begin with. Too bad one more wave cannot arrive just when they are there and wash them away.
