I'm homesick for Ohio, too! And I miss the silliest things, like shopping at Kroger or getting lost driving from the east side to the west side of Cincinnati. And I hated Cincinnati with a passion when I first moved there! I was going to stay no longer than a year or two; instead I stayed 21 years.

It's amazing how we can't wait to move from a certain place, and then once we do, it becomes the best thing since sliced bread!

Ohiogirl81, that was a great way to put things. I just currently moved to Cincinnati and i love it here. I love my job, and i couldnt ask for a better office. My office over looks the Cincinnati Riverfront and the bustling Covington and Newport Riverfronts. There is so much construction going on and seeing all this new development just makes for a great atmosphere. Cincinnati currently has one of the fastest growing job markets in the nation right now, the northern suburbs are some of the fastest growing regions in the nation, and Cincinnati is just a truly great city with so much diversity and history.

I am not from Ohio but lived in Ohio a year back in 2003 and I can see why your homesick.

It really is a beautiful state and they have everything there it seems except for a good job oppurtunity.

Hello Misshome,
I'm from Vermilion, Ohio too. Moved to Florida in 1980 for a better life. In April my husband and I are moving back to Ohio after all these years. He's from Parma originally. Life in Florida is definitely overrated!! I graduated from VHS class of 1973, How about you?

I grew up in Vermilion too. Graduated in 1973 from VHS. I currently live in Florida but am moving back to Ohio, Millersburg to be exact, nothing in Vermilion to go back to. I will be moving into Lake Buckhorn so I will have the water recreation but no river to jam up!! My dad used to call those who lived in the Lagoons the river rats. It's a nice area but has it's risks. One flood would cure me!

Default Lu Ann

Hi Lu Ann, Wow you've been in Florida quite a while. Did it ever feel like home? Do you think you'll miss it? I just moved from Vermilion 16months ago.But i grew up in dumpy Lorain. I graduated from A.K.H.S. I always hated it. But i lived in vermilion for the last 12 years.

Im glad to be back in Ohio myself. I lived in Smithfield from 1960-1964 when my parents moved to Ky. I hated it there. I went to Smithfield Elementery and I loved everything about my life in Smithfield. Ohio may not be a rich state, but it sure beats some of the places I've been.
