it's going to rain "heavily" tonight....... in theory.

I do say in theory as a disclaimer, since 85% of the time they predict rain it never happens. so it doesn't happen often, but man when it rains here it can really rain.

My two favorite storm system radar animations:

AccuWeather.com - Radar/Satellite Combo Images (http://www.accuweather.com/maps-satellite.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0&site= cas&type=rs&anim=1&large=1 - broken link)

Intellicast - Current Radar Loop in Bakersfield, California (93301)

Yep, during that last rainy winter...3 years ago???...I lost an entire street level condo. Flooding and then mold....cost me nine months of rentals before it was redone...sheetrock halfway up the walls, cabinets, carpeting...what a mess.

That is what I've heard. CO is a nice place to live in, if you can find work there.

Okay the "Storm Watch" on KCal9 is about the most ridiculous thing I've seen in quite awhile. C'mon!!!! Rain = a storm watch? I swear living here sometimes feels like outer space.......I need ET to phone me home! :0)~

I like how the morning news will have some reporter LIVE! ON THE SCENE! where something happened the day before. "Yes, I'm live on the scene in Bakersfield at the scene of last night's grisly crash. As you can see, everything's been cleared up, and it's daylight now, but here's a replay of the video we played last night."
