Warm weather and sun everyday. I will exchange you temps very seldom above 40 with a wind chill to factor in, getting up every morning to see how much extra time you need to be able to drive in to work because of snow/ice covered roads, scraping car windows, salted roads making your car white and then finding a day to run it through the car wash without all the doors freezing shut etc... True I don't get bored because this continues until May.

It’s 39 and raining here in Charlotte. The fall colors are almost gone now, the prediction is for a colder than normal winter, but who knows.
After 36 years of Orange County, CA I really needed the change. I love the rain, and when fall arrives it gets cooler and stays cooler. No more 60 one day and 110 the next and no rain for months.
I do miss my friends, but that’s all I miss about CA.

I totally agree with you in principal, but aha, but it's a Jackie Johnson Stormwatch... which makes it that much more special just to see what kind of special sweater / blouse / dress she will be breaking out for that particular 'watch

Just came across your post and I had to laugh....one of the many reasons I moved out of Cali a long time ago. Born and raised in CA, I grew tired of the "season-less" weather. I mean how annoying is it for 80 degree + weather at Thanksgiving, a time when you want to finally wear your cozy sweater for the holidays???!! I moved up to Oregon in 94, then to WA 2 years later, and finally ended up in Boise,ID in 2003. Absolutely love the climate here! We get four seasons. Average rainfall is just over 12 inches. Average snowfall is around 21.4 inches, not really a big deal as it seems to snow a few inches here, a few inches there and then melts. The summer days are long here; it's light till about 10:15 PM (due to Mountain Time), and the Fall is absolutely beautiful(kinda like an extension of summer, just a bit cooler). Spring can be a mix of cool and warm weather with an occasional thunderstorm to make things interesting. It's the perfect mix of weather...enough to keep things interesting, but not so bad that it disrupts activities. We get no hurricanes, no tornadoes, and virtually no humidity! Great place for kids and families, hands down, the best place I've ever lived. The four seasons is a must in my book and I enjoy everything that Boise-Metro has offered so far.

Best of luck in finding your dream place, but I agree, the weather is in So. California is over-rated IMO.

I remember them cutting in with a "breaking story" one year because it was raining. They then cut to joe in Hollywood and siad "Is it raining there joe?" "Yup it is raining here" followed by some footage of a street with rain falling "Now over to June in Santa Monica, Is it raining there June" "No, but it was a few minutes ago" (zoom in on some water flowing in the gutter). This went on through about four or five locations. I was giggling all the way through. How absurd. It was not a big storm. Just the fact that there was any weather at all was "breaking news"

My wife started a gorup of Moms that met at different parks every Thursday to let the kids play together. One day all of the other moms called and bowed out. There were clouds and wind!! No rain was predicted and none fell. Funny how spoiled people get in consitently perfect weather. In most places if you stay inside when it is cloudy or windy, yu will become a mole.
