If you’re at a sea side restaurant in New Jersey and your choices are “Manhattan clam chowder” or “New England clam chowder” do you freak out?
Are you all “where’s the jersey chowder”?
Or do you pick the style that you like best?
If so why would you have a problem if someone asked you if the non Jersey style chowder that you had in New Jersey was good?

But that’s not what it’s called.
So no one is going to order that.
(Fun fact part of RI is in or practically in the Long Island sound)

You also can’t deny the manhattan flavor of that chowder.
It’s total little Italy clam chowder.
“Manhattan style” is a good way to describe it even though it originally came from another island in that area.
But calling it “Manhattan style” just sounds better.
Don’t you think?

Isn’t Rhode Island the state that’s known for having toxic wieners?
And isn’t Massachusetts the state that’s known for fluff?
Ick.
This is Florida.
We have oranges.

fluuf in MA. Wieners in RI? Hvaent heard yet and I grew up 10 minutes from RI. RI is known for Coffee Milk, Quahogs, Red Clam Chowder (Manhattan), Calamari, Clam Cakes and Beach Pizza. Didn't even know of Weiners until now. Those Eyetalians.

Just looked up coffee milk b/c I'd never heard of it before. Same caffeine as coffee?

So you come from under Plymouth Rock?
Lol!

RI is made fun of for their toxic wieners.
We make fun of RI for that where I come from in NY too.
Everyone knows about their toxic wieners and how proud RIers are to be the only state that has them lol. How could you not know that if you lived ten minutes away? It’s common knowledge much further away.

No one in the North East cares about RI having those other things. Because they can get that stuff in their own states too.
But they can’t get the toxic wieners bc they are illegal everywhere else. And no one cares that they can’t get them bc no one wants them except for the RI people.
And if you don’t know what fluff is (what Massachusetts is known for by everyone in America but you) then that means that you are not from Massachusetts (Bc how could anyone be THAT dumb lol)
So why do you have a Massachusetts screen name?

I’ve also been to chowder festivals in numerous places including RI and in RI Manhattan chowder never wins the contest.
It’s always New England style clam chowder in Rhode Island.
No one knows RI for its Manhattan chowder.
No one goes out to eat in RI at the place with the award winning Manhattan clam chowder bc Manhattan chowder doesn’t win the contest in RI. New England style does.
So that is the style that is better known and preferred in RI.
And what is “beach pizza”?

I also love how you put “Manhattan” in parentheses even though it’s clear that I know what you are referring to.
That’s how desperate you are to try to come across as knowledgeable.
It’s so sad.
Maybe you ARE just too dumb to know about the fluff even though it’s practically your state food lol.
