I remember when anyone could go to the "toy store" and buy a chemistry set, for kids, that including equipment and chemicals that could easily kill you.
I also remember almost dying while using that chemistry set.
Grimm's Fairy Tales and Hans Christian Andersen hardcover books that were really musty even back in the 1950's because they were my mother's from the 1920's.
During Easter Week, the Feed Store and Chick Hatchery on Main Street would dye about 200 baby chicks red or blue or green and turn them loose in the front display window. Delighted all ages.
