LOL...you guys are great. I can always count on CD to lift my spirits.
Well, my recipe is one that you make today and eat tomorrow. It has gone thru the baking process, the resting in the hot oven process and the cooling down on the counter process. It's currently in the fridge process. I've discovered that the sugar not only sweetens the crust but reacts as a glue as well. When I took it out of the pan, the crust kind of disintegrated into a bit of powder. Not all of the crust, just about 10% of it. SInce it's for a bake sale, I can't really taste it. I looks and smells awfully good, tho. I wonder if they'd miss just a little slice......
A lot of the bake sales around here have started selling pies and cakes by the slice, they get more money that way. You could try a slice and do that with the rest, saying you were just trying to get them the most money you could.
Yesterday we received our monthly, well-known, general interest magazine that is full of funny and interesting anecdotes about life here in the US, things at work and in the military, as well as stories of heroic acts by common people. We have subscribed for years. There was a notice enclosed, thanking us for extending our subscription by not returning the previous notice from their NEW automatic subscription continuation service. I just hope they accept our NOT sending a check as payment for this extension.

Just make sure they don't have you CC # or will be automatically renew at the highest possible rate. I actually canceled the subscription and they still billed $32 for a normally $7 or $8 sub rate and it took a bit to get it off my CC card. Swine~~~~~~
No cc #. We paid by check the last time and have since closed that account as well as switched credit cards when our bank sold and and the new one cut staff, causing DW to become unemployed (after 24 years).

"There really is no free lunch..." A friend invited me to a women's breakfast to my surprise she had really volunteered us to do a workshop for 5 hours. I was thinking I great a free breakfast where I have no performance responsibilities, but what I got was a funny reality check- "there is no free breakfast" either. In truth I made the best of it and had fun, but had I know I would have done something different.
Another day with allergies,,,, spring time isn't fun for some of us.
