The stock and trade of Conservative Movement in America is lies and deception. Why? None of their ideology holds up under the light of the truth. Your post's is yet another example of this.
I have been watching the media reports and specially the images where teachers are signing papers/doctors forms stating they have something that makes them not able to teach.
On top of that if you see the signs and language on the signs...how on earth can that be an example for our students?
I know for sure if it would be the other way around the students would be at suspended for using this language!
We should all ask the people in charge to do what Ronald Reagan did back in the days and every one who doesn't show up in class to teach...fire them!

Where does all of this hatred for teachers come from?
I've served as a commissioned officer in the military. I worked for many years in the electronics manufacturing field. I now teach HS science.
I recall catching some flak when I was in the service. Some folks just plain hate the military. I always considered them to be weirdos.
I never once got a negative reaction when I was in industry.
Now, as a public school teacher, I constantly read and hear nasty comments directed against educators. Is this coming from those who hated school and didn't do well in their own school days? Is this coming from right wing radio blabbermouths who want to see the public schools dissolved?
It's irrational, emotional, and doesn't speak well for our nation's future. Can America really be this disdainful of schools?
Let's take a look at those who are whiipping up anti-teacher fury. Beck - no college education, Rush - no college education, Walker - no college education. By the way I find it ironic that almost every public employee in Wisconsin is required to have a college degree but our governor does not have one.
No let's look what the Koch brothers and other contributors to Walker and his ilk have to gain by destroying education. Gee....no mystery. Uneducated people who have no choice but to work for whatever these pirates will pay them. And with no unions to protect them it will be nothing but a race to the bottom. All of you who are middle class and want to see unions disbanded want to remember that they are the ones that got wages up so there could be a middle class in the first place. Keep believing the lies the corporate shills are selling and within 5 years you will be working for minimum wages too.
I think everyone should stand up for what they believe in. And that's exactly what the teachers are doing. They've agreed to everything but giving up collective bargaining. They want their voice heard which isn't a bad thing. Don't you want your voice heard too. And I think it's a great lesson for the kids.
The issue has been addressed & union employees said flat out that they accept the increases in health care & pension pay in. What they want is to keep bargaining rights.
A lie is to make excuses, when this is really about union busting.
I think it's about taxpayers. End public employee unions now and when a Democrat becomes governor they can't just give back all of the pay and benefits taken away, putting the states back in a hole.
Now that was really slick what you didn't say is that Wisconsin ranks 13th in this category, while Texas ranks 34th, Florida ranks 38th, and Nevada ranks 43rd.
If you want to insist it doesn't that only thing you are doing is insulting your own intelligence. I understand it's a popular Conservative pastime.
So it is your contention that Wisconsin teachers are doing a good job when 2/3 of 8th graders can't read at grade level.
And I'm not a conservative. Stop insulting your intelligence. I understand it's a popular leftie pastime.
