nope, because after the public education, I also teach my child at home, or are you one of those that really believes that education stops when the child leaves the school.

I pay property taxes and have done for forty years...I have no children but am smart enough to know education is a need for any country. I know taxes are the price you pay for living and expecting things in return.

How do you think teachers feel, paying, through taxes, part of their own wages?

if it wasnt for the citizen paying those taxes, teachers would not have any money to pay any tax at all.

Are you subjecting your child to hours of more instruction, after a full school day, just because you've paid a state tax for education?

Is this coming from those who hated school and didn't do well in their own school days? Is this coming from right wing radio blabbermouths who want to see the public schools dissolved?
That is saying it all in a nutshell right there. Good post.

of course, do you really think that a childs education ends when they leave school?

And, of course, you take personal responsibility (without pay) for that teaching and for joining the city council to direct ALL taxes as YOU see fit.

You take personal responsibility for infrastructure, roads, libraries, tax breaks for corporations, police and fire spending, street lights, potholes, the court system, public park funding... you are totally personally responsible to make sure tax distribution is fair...you are involved....correct?

I know a lot of people who've called in sick and weren't, and didn't get fired. I know you can't provide a link, but maybe an example?

Sure go ahead fire them, while you are at it fire all state union workers and stop all govenment business regulations and let Big Business run the show there. Then Wis can truely get back to the backward days of yesturday and the nation will have perfect example of what sort of world the right-wing Pawns will bring you. Yes, please go for it.

As a parent and a teacher, I think a child's education starts when they are born and continues until they die. I think that if a child spends 7+ hours/day in receiving formal instruction, it is a bit much to sit that child down and give him hours more when he returns home - especially if you are sending your child to school simply to 'spite' the state. Kids do need time to play - or are you one of those 'tiger moms' who believe in all work and no play??
