No no no. The issue has been addressed & union employees said flat out that they accept the increases in health care & pension pay in. What they want is to keep bargaining rights. Not too much to ask for, right? Not hard to allow people to negotiate for salaries, vacation, benefits, etc. It happens in every job. Can you imagine the outrage if that were taken away from every working person? Yeah, it'd be huge.

I know for sure if it would be the other way around the students would be at suspended for using this language!

We should all ask the people in charge to do what Ronald Reagan did back in the days and every one who doesn't show up in class to teach...fire them!

that will solve the unemployment rate faster...

I agree. Take a page from Reagan and fire them. They are more concerned with keeping the iron fist of the teacher's union in control and funding the democrats than they are concerned with education.

There would have been better ways to approach this, but the teacher's union chose one of conflict.

I see a lot of disgruntled people on this forum who must have been screwed by their private employer. Now, they want to take the public employees down with them in some sort of twisted socialism sort of way.

I'm sorry children of Wisconsin, we need to fire your teachers to pay for the Koch's to have our power plants and for the rich to get their tax cuts.

Don't worry, it's for your own good.

Signed,

Wisconsin GOP

Oh for gods sakes. Let's try something: put yourself in that same situation, whether your a teacher, garbage man, forester, whatever. And your governor pushed thru a bill that takes away the negotiation rights that you've known for say 50 years. On top of that, your paycheck is going to decrease dramatically due to increases in pension & health care. I'm not saying they shouldn't pay more, I'm just saying pretend this is what you're used to. Like you wouldn't be up in arms about it? Like you wouldn't go out there & get your voice heard? Come on! It's all fine & dandy to call them "thugs" & "fire them!" when it's not happening to you. God forbid.

Which means when they get another democratic governor elected with their campaign contributions it'll be business as usual. The unions are simply an arm of the democratic party anyway. Having a state with democratic administration passing laws that benefit the unions which allow them ever greater sums of monies skimmed off and donated right back to the same democratic party that passed the laws that benefitted the unions in the first place constitutes a "racket" in my book.

I'm with fdr on this issue. We shouldn't have public employee unions. The public's needs are too important to be left to the whims and desires of union bosses and democratic party pols.

I'm sorry wisconsin children. You cannot get an education because your teachers, their union bosses, and the democratic party want to gouge your parents some more.

No. Collective bargaining is part and parcel of marxist thought, not people who believe government should be smaller and more efficient.

Some more? How would it be "more"? They've agreed to the pension & health care. So, where is the "more" coming from?
