Do you really find it normal for a 12 yo girl to imagine THAT?
A 12 year old who is scared for her life and has the power to protect herself is good . Her family clearly taught her what do . Get the gun go to the closet Stay there until the intruder leaves or becomes a threat. She did not hunt down this intruder , the intruder came after her, she chose to protect herself . Good for her she ia alive and not touched

According to the article she shot through the door when the handle was turned. It could have been a cop and she could have shot him in the head or heart and killed him/her.
Yea, teach 'em young to shoot people when they try to take your 'stuff'!
Such news are published here as "look how outrageous life in America is".
A child with a gun is not about property protection.
Well we all know what propaganda means. It's been rearing it's ugly head for my whole life time. This little girl saved herself. Anyone who can find fault with that is themselves suspect imo
This same guy was involved in an Amber Alert a couple of years ago, looks like the charges might have been dropped. Though it looks like they booked him this time for robbery, he very well could have been going in there for her. Don't most thieves just grab a tv and run, why look in the closet. That's creepy. Durant Daily Democrat - Amber alert issued for missing teen She got him in the shoulder, he spent one night in the hospital, not very serious. Twelve is the age my kids started staying by themselves and when they started babysitting. I hope he goes away for a long time.
This was worth repeating....This guy escalated from breaking and entering/burglary when he hunted her down....to I don't even want to imagine.....thank goodness she protected herself and by doing so saving who knows how many other little girls in the process....

My liberal friend said that the girl used excessive force. Maybe she should have tried to hold his hand and sing Kumbaya.
There is no such thing as excessive force if someone has broken in to your home....it's not like he stopped by to borrow a cup of sugar but didn't want to wake you up. He knew what he was doing and what his intentions were and deserves a bullet to the head.
She had time to call her mom, and receive instructions to get a gun and hide.
To all people, who have sh.t in place of a grey matter: the absolutely best way for this girl to protect herself would be to run outside! A gun may not protect (it may even put in a much greater danger) an adult man, let alone a little girl.
What another ignorant leftist comment....why should she leave her house? Sorry, no person is open to come into my house "Just because."

Under what law? WHen would you start leaving your child alone? Or are you one for keeping your child in the basement unti lthey are 26?

Another great (no not really) comment from the left...
Good for the little girl! Next time, don't leave a witness...

Where did you get the idea he hunted her down? He probably didn't know anyone was in the house. He probably opened the closet door to see if there was anything worth stealing. So you've decided he's probably a rapist/pedophile/murderer and not just a burglar because he opened a closet which happened to have a 12 year old in it?

The American way. Kill now, ask questions later.
