We have too many people qualifying for the SNAP and social security programs. To reduce costs, politicians are talking about reducing the level payment or amount of services people will receive. What will happen to the people these services were meant to help? They will get screwed, so the leeches can get their free stuff.
Actually you are right. Rather than move the poverty line they now qualify folks who earn 100-400% over the poverty line. You now have blue collar workers that qualify for some programs.

But if you don't mind living in the projects than have at it
Project even better. Everything included. I have an uncle who transferred his home to his son, then applied for public housing and got it. 2 bedrooms for $200/month everything included. They didn't even need the place, but kept it just because it is so cheap and everything included. Blazing AC 24/7 is already cost more than the rent.

Btw, you probably not from the NYC area, a lot of these "public" house are in very nice development in prime area in NYC. Soho, midtown right next to Empire state building, just name a few. You get get then for about 500 to 600/month for a market value of like 6 to 8k if you "made" 25 to 30k/yr.

I wouldn't trade spots with a "Section 8" recipient or a "foodstamp recipient" even if I got 'free' food and 'housing assistance' (section 8 isn't free).

So, your point is that you're now backpeddling on your $7.5B quote, now making it a 10 year period of time? how about 20 years, I'm terrible at math.

"Why Do EBT Card Holders Get To Eat Better Than Me And My Family?"

They paid for that right to eat better, with their votes. They traded the prospect of ever amounting to anything for some cheap political payouts. Every bite of that blood food is another nail in their coffin. Every time they whip out that card and hand it to the clerk, I assure you, they are well aware of how pathetic they are. They know the price and have accepted it, a life of servitude and dependence on the government.
