All this speculation about how easy it is to get permanent disability .....hogwash.

We will hire an attorney for him to help expedite matters if he is denied again.
Most people just have no idea what they are talking about when they attempt to bash stuff like SSDI, SSI, etc. SSDI is technically not welfare. In fact, the "I" stand for insurance. It's not a handout either. Your "tax dollars" don't even fund it. The program is funded by the federal payroll tax and designed to provide income for disabled workers who pay FICA. They can also work while recieving it and make a certain amount of money ($700-$900?) or do what's called a trial work period if the recipient feels they can work fully again. Someone who never worked a day in their life would not qualify for it. Only disabled individuals who have worked a number of years (or quarters as the social security administration puts it) are able to recieve it. Some people spend over 5-10 years fighting for it through legal battles. These people usually have serious health issues and need to see doctors to get the treatment they need. There are also people who have collected it and then returned fully back into the workforce years after and after getting their health issues treated. Yes, there are some people who stay on it but most of the time it's because they just can't work anymore, or at least not enough to support themselves. Everyone has a different situation.

People get confused between SSI and SSDI. They are 2 totally different programs.

Specifically, what "hand up" are you talking about that "Republicans kept offering" to "blacks" as you state.

This is a simple, direct, honest and valid question.

Are you referring to some proposed policy or legislation that the Republicans were bandying about?

Sincerely, seriously--what was this "hand up?"

They voted and still vote to keep government handouts going because it is easier than arguing with those who won’t work or taking care of those who can’t. This is a syndrome that has now infected all of our society and the Democratic Party has solidified its base of those who want government to be responsible instead of being responsible themselves.

Why Do Blacks Vote Democrat?

Hand up in Republican speak is outsource your job, destroy the middle class and take your kids and live on the street and die.

A "hand up" means a minimum wage job. Just enough to throw you off food stamps, so you work 40 hours a week and have a lower standard of living then when you were on welfare. This is a hard sell to the welfare entrenched mentality. They are not the sharpest crayons in the pencil box. These are not motivated people who will work hard at a minimum wage job and get promotions and work out of poverty with education and hard work.

The mentality here is.....if I have another child I will be eligible for section 8, and get a bigger apartment.

He didn't make that claim, at least not in the post you are quoting. Nice strawman.

We're still waiting for petch to come out from hiding and explain, exactly, what "hand up" his Republican Party "kept offering" to "blacks."

Once he can give us the specifics on that, let's move on.

We're all ears, petch.

Oh. You're one of those "MY party is better than YOUR party, nyah, nyah!" folks. Good luck on that failboat. You've been completely duped.
