6: NYC NY - GOP (though many in the GOP think he should be a Democrat)
5: Trenton New Jersey - Democrat

2: San Jose California - Democrat

1: Stamford, Conn - GOP (though the mayor is pretty fed up with the fringe groups controlling the GOP so he's considering leaving the party).

Also, even though Napa, Stamford and NYC have GOP mayors, they aren't bastions of conservatorism at all

Well, I'm pretty sure that the 11th wealthiest city is another liberal city...

Perhaps this is a Detroit problem and not a "liberal" or "conservative" problem.
Good post but in all fairness, I think Columbus has a bit of an edge being the seat of state government and OSU.

I'm just stating a fact. Detroit's decline is more complicated than that. It has been a long, slow decline. What I'm saying is that one should do the research first.

Yes. We are so fortunate that no rightwingers/neocons ever engage in that sort of nonsense.

Why did you wait 'til the 56th post to spew baseless garbage?

Columbus might have more of an edge, but there is one thing to look at. Columbus might have done better because its economic wasn't as heavy in steel and automobiles as Cleveland's.
