We have a lot more than one problem here. It starts with our politicians then our police force. Corruption runs wild at every level and every department. Add in the fact that the state is dead broke after years of mismanagement and it all piles up to a steaming pile of crap.
As for crime.... The 8 dead headline you posted is not really anything out of the ordinary. In fact it's pretty common. The real bulk of the crime is within the city and mostly contained on the side side of the city within a couple of square miles... This that don't want to get robbed or killed know enough to stay out of those neighborhoods. It's not that we ignore it so much as know better than to get involved.
BTW.. Someone posted about a large black population and there was some discussion about it.. There is a huge black population here and while it is true that every race commits crimes and murder. The vast majority of the crime here is black on black or black on Hispanic. I'm not trying to start an argument. Just stating the facts.
Houston has a very large Black population as well. Not as much violent crime as Chicago. I would say it has more to do with the makeup of Houston's Black population. Compared to Chicago, Houston's Black population has more upwardly mobile residents, where as many of Chicago's middle class Black residents have left for places like Houston and Atlanta. Same situation if you compared Milwaukee's Black population with Charlotte's Black population.
That's because mommy came home from work and caught him masturbating to internet porn sites again, notice what's missing after about 4:00 P.M.?
I also see the OP came by and stuck another barb into the discussion. I love how these trolls begin threads, disappear momentarily, then come back to lob an insult or two. The OP hates black on black crime so much, he/she never added anything positive to the discussion, might just hate blacks?
The internet troll which entered and kept the conversation going, the one that disappeared at 4:00 P.M. yesterday hates affirmative action.
You have to wonder who these socks are? Seems there's a racist thread every-other day on this forum.
I did notice what was missing after 4.
Personally, I believe there are many people here who resent and hate Blacks as a whole. Some people use this as a way to vent their anger and resentment.
I've often wondered who said trolls are. It could be anyone, even someone I know.
If you don't think skin color determines criminal behavior than why do you think blacks commit a disproportionate amount of crimes? Give me a straight answer here, no dodging the question.
ridiculous comment...no one thinks skin color "causes" criminal behavior..
I don't "think" blacks commit more crime..I KNOW they do.Like it or not, it's a fact....go look up the FBI and Justice Department stats....

Most people sit in their homes watching and reading the news. They see that most crime especially murders are committed by a minority of uneducated violent people.
Then they ask, why are these people so violent and respect human life so very little ?
Maybe the media should not report on these crimes.
I think some people need to take some tours of some of these neighborhoods and then ask the question, "How do we expect the children there to compete with the rest of the population?"
School is easy when your biggest fear is your "reputation." It's a whole different ball game when your fear is death.

Well, I'm not one of those people who sits at home and watches the news. There is what the media shows you, and then there is what I see outside my front door. I don't see Black people committing violent crimes in my area. I see them just living their lives, working, raising families.

And then I try to explain to you that the FBI statistics do not tell you everything about the violent crimes that took place.
And when I try to explain to you the causes of violent crime, you shoot it down or try to ignore it. You even said you don't care about the what, why and how of crimes, only the race of the criminals. That shows that you think race is the major reason someone commits a crime.

Makes it hard to study.
In addition, there is a social implication to consider. Many Black children get made fun of for studying. This doesn't happen to Asians or White kids nearly as much as it does to Black kids.

Do you find yourself being afraid when you are around black people? If so, you might want to seek psychiatric help.
1) Its leaders are leftist and 2) It has a large black population 3) It's the most corrupt city in the whole country.
You can't blame it on one thing and one thing alone. It's a multitude of things that contribute to Chicago's sickness.
I've made an assumption which of the 3 you believe is the biggest of the problems you cite. Tisk. Tisk.
