So you walk in with your kids, order and no place to sit? I'd be pissed too. Look, it's everyone's own problem to make sure you can retire with something to do besides breathe.
Install electrodes in the seats that activate after 45 minutes to an hour. Not a large shock, just enough to deter behavior like what dogs wear with an electric fence. Problem solved.
Those that leave in the prescribed time get a coupon for a free cookie. Old people love free stuff. Have you ever seen them in a buffet line at a restaurant, putting bacon, rolls and anything else they can fit in their handbags?
Probably already mentioned upthread, I didn't read the whole thread, but these elderly, mcdonalds, restaurant sitters should mosey over to a starbucks. the management's corporate policy announced a year ago is people don't have to buy anything to sit in the company's coffee shops or patios.
I haven't seen that, but seen elderly groups in McD getting one senior coffee each ($0.50) and free refills for hours.
Yes, that's what they do. My partner is Korean, I lived in Korea for 5 years, and we lived in Koreatown in LA for 4 years after that. When this incident first happened, it was widely discussed in the Korean community both in-person and online. We got a good laugh because this is exactly what the elderly Koreans do in Korea, where it is the norm. However, in their new country, it is not the norm, so they should make an attempt to assimilate.

Yep.
That was actually a decades old ideal ('The Third Place'), but it was reiterated and reemphasized a year or so ago re Philadelphia.
It's an Oriental culture thing. McDonald's are insensitive and being bigots about this.
They forced two stores to close. Good job being morons. Now they have to find a new place to close. Pretty soon they'll have to all gather at one of their own places like they should have in the first place.
